College Junior

Campus Resources: I am an online student so my computer network is at my home. Walden's Interface is a little difficult until you get the hang of it.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: Walden provides a lot of resources for its students.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: One of the cheapest programs.

4 College Junior

Student Body: Walden was the first university that I attended that had forums for sororities, business, schools, etc. They truly keep up informed with emails and announcements.

Online Courses: For me, online courses have provided me with the flexibility needed to support my family and attend school. You have to be really disciplined because if not you will not be motivated to complete the assignments. I have attended a few other online universities and their workload is much greater than Walden. I was very impressed with those Professors that called to introduce themselves prior to the start of class. That was a bonus that I didn't get at the other universities.

Overall Experience: Overall, it's been great. I've had a few instructors that I don't ever want to have again, but that's to be expected at any university. I am very satisfied with the amount of knowledge and experience I've gained at Walden.

Academic Flexibility: One of the attractions of Walden for me was the flexibility of the online/residency format. I am very busy working all the time to try to make ends meet, and it's helped to be able to log into the classroom discussions and submit assignments.

Online Courses: For the most part, I like the online format, because I work so much. It offers flexibility and a challenge. I do miss the in-class interaction that I had at the undergraduate and masters level programs. However, the program requires us to attend residencies, and offers other in-person courses as well, such as writing retreats. I will take advantage of these this year, so I can sharpen and accelerate my writing.

Campus Resources: We very seldom have network issues, and they let us know when it will be down for maintenance. I've only had one experience where I was trying to submit a paper, and it was down.

Campus Resources: The Walden Library is one of the most modern and fabulous resources I've ever seen. If we didn't have access to it, I don't think many of us could complete the coursework and research, and graduate. The Writing Center is also a great resource for us, and I have benefited tremendously from their help.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Finanicial aid has been a blessing for me, and has allowed me to pursue my dream of earning a doctorate degree. The folks in financial aid have been great, but it takes about a month at the beginning of each semester to get our tuition refund. This causes a lot of stress trying to cover all the expenses until the refund shows up, and should be accelerated so that we get our money faster.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: Walden attracts students from all over the world, and I've been amazed and impressed at the level of serious commitment from the other students I've met here. We sure get to know each other and develop friendships at the residencies. It's been fun getting to know fellow students from all parts of America and the world.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I hacve learned a lot since being enrolled in the Special Education program at Walden University.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I like the flexibility in the schedule and the mentoring I've gotten at Walden University. It's where I need to be for my PhD degree program. This is my 3rd attempt at the 3rd university, and overall, it's been a great experience.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: I haven't used these services, but heard it was okay.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The way we learn in my program of study is a combination of instructor-led courses, self-directed assignments and residencies. Although we chat online with faculty and each other, we don't spend time together except at the residencies. As a doctoral student who works full-time to keep my head above water, this works fine for me.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: It is what it is, I'm here now and I intend to follow through, as I used to their systems now.

3 College Junior

Career Services: I don't really know what's available.

3 College Junior

Student Body: I have reached out to 2 students beyond the classroom setting and they were cordial but I was hoping to develop a student to student friendship, has not happened. Nobody has reached out to me. It's a lonely experience going to college this way.

2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I feel for the price I am paying the education I have received thus far has been average and anything I have learned I have basically learned on my own.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: You need to provide all of your own equipment. The IT department is very helpful in assisting in online questions.

College Junior

Campus Resources: There may be a campus but I have not seen it, as all of my classes are online.

2 College Junior

Online Courses: I have not felt that I have received any encouragement or assistance from my professors thus far. I feel as though I am self teaching and the instructors facilitate the syllabus and grade on a scale which is very vague and hard to interpret.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Their have been challenge to online learning the instructors thus far have been facilitators vs educators.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I"m doing good, making good grades. I love my advisors. Everything is going smoothly.
