4 College Student

Academic Experience: The program is great for a clinical degree since no where in my area did schools offer this degree. I would have liked to move and go to a campus school but this turned out a great option so I could stay and take care of my elderly grandparents.

Academic Experience: Most of the professors are understanding of your real world lifestyle and responsibilities and try to plan accordingly.

Online Courses: This is a good school, although a few of the residencies I would prefer to be online rather than put all the money into travels for the same material I could get online.

Tuition & Financial Aid: My financial aid ran out. I maxed out the student loans, and got one Plus loan... No other opportunities for students once the government funding has been used up.

No scholarships, grants, or work-study offered through the school which limits students.

Even those who work hard and maintain 4.0 GPA have nowhere else to turn to. Scholarships are hard to get, and grants are impossible.

Overall Experience: There are some downfalls: no invitation to show at conferences, no opportunities for alternatives for financial aid once the funds max-out...

The professors are good, but the administrators seem to be more interested in "marginalized groups" than those who are Caucasian, thus causing this latter demographic to become "marginalized".

I do not appreciate a few of the professors who were clearly racist or culturally insensitive to the concerns of the Caucasian population in their classes. Especially the Cultural Diversity in Counseling class. We, the Caucasian population, were treated as though we were horrible racists even through the textbooks that were chosen.

Career Services: I have not yet utilized the career services department.

Academic Flexibility: I found that I felt belittled by some of the administrators and also felt that I was not going to be appreciated based upon either my race, or my sex. I think that it is important to treat college students like students, but also like respectable people who deserve to be spoken to as professionals rather than as subordinates.

Academic Experience: I feel that there are benefits to the degree I am working toward. There are so many facets of opportunity once I've reached my goals.

Academic Experience: Curriculum is good, and the school format is really nice. I can follow it well and have figured out the Blackboard classroom finally. I feel that there is opportunity for advancement and growth in my career through what I'm learning in school.

Campus Resources: I am disappointed there are not more options for work-study or scholarship for students in the PhD program. It seems that a student who has reached nearly the end should have encouragement and opportunity to complete what they started, like colleges do for undergrad students.

3 Recent Alumnus

Online Courses: I think instructors should respond to each main post each week in the discussion board to let us know what they have to improve on our knowledge, or at least so that the student is not sitting there with no replies at all.

Student Body: I find that many times I am sitting in discussion boards with no replies to my main posts. This is discouraging. I like to find others who have no responses and write to them. I just wish others had that same sentiment.

Overall Experience: Overall, I'm satisfied with Walden. The only thing that challenges my participation is that I don't qualify for financial aid nor for loans. This means I have to pay out of pocket and it makes it almost impossible for me to attend.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: One has to be more attentive to the formatting of the homework assignment. The forums offer a great experience in learning from the other students.

3 College Junior

Student Body: Its hard to describe when you only have the online interaction to guide your judgement

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Nothing that stands out. Though I wish more credits could have been admitted from my previous school.

4 College Junior

Career Services: THe program I'm pursuing has the continuation option for a higher degree under the same field.

3 College Junior

Facilities: Walden does offer a lot of resources that are helpful in the process such as the online library, the lab, and citation links.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: There is a lot of resources available. I especially enjoyed having the ebooks. It made it easier to do the assignments.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I really enjoy the courses and the assignments. Interacting in the forums with other students and the teacher offers a great opportunity to learn from each other.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I wish I could afford taking more classes =(

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: great interaction with students during class and residencies

Campus Resources: resources include a wrting center which is great, helps with my writing.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: good network, has even changed to gmail to make it more convenient to get my email from the school.
