Wake Tech has been consistently reasonable with its tuition rates, which average $1500 a semester for a full-time student in state and $7500 for a full-time student out of state. In comparison to NC State's $15,000 per semester, students at Wake Tech are able to save a lot of money. Some students dislike Wake Tech's tuition fee policy, however. In the last semester, Wake Tech has increased its rate from $50 per credit hour to $56 per credit hour, marking the second tuition cost increase within two years. Because Wake Tech's price has an upward trend, many students have become frustrated with the system.

All students are eligible to apply for financial aid while attending Wake Tech. Although not all students may receive financial aid, there are also other options, such as applying for grants and/or loans. Wake Tech also offers scholarships to students who display a strong performance on their high school transcript or have extra-curricular activities.

Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting Aid
  • Apply early! Early applicants often get the most attention because the financial advisers have more time to evaluate them.
  • Be up front and don't be afraid to release any information about your financial struggles.
  • If you do not qualify for financial aid, ask about a grant or a loan. Your previous academic records may qualify you to receive benefits from one of these programs.
Did You Know?
  • You can get a 100 percent refund for any dropped classes if they are cancelled before the first day of the academic semester. You can also receive a full refund for any and all textbooks purchased.
  • If students need to drop a class before the 10 percent mark of the academic semester, they can still receive a 75 percent refund.
