3 College Student

Online Courses: The classes are typical, but you rarely speak to the professor. It' entirely optional whether or not you want to speak with them, and so students rarely do. The workload can be a bit intense, as we're supposed to finish a class within 6 weeks, but for the price it's worth it.

4 College Freshman

Online Courses: I have only taken one online course and I liked it. I do better in the classroom, but that is just how I learn. That being said. The teachers were easily accessible through email, you could easily interact with your peers through discussion boards or email, and the workload was not bad.

2 College Senior

Online Courses: I am taking Music Appreciation online, and it is by far one of the worst classes I have ever taken. I had to pay a good amount of money to go to a concert that I had to- this class is a big waste of time.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: They make sure you are ready for an online course before you take one.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: my nutrition teacher was excellent and always available to help.

Although some students have no problems taking online courses, there are still a lot of students who find this aspect of Wake Tech to be very frustrating. Most of the time, online courses rely solely on email as a means of communication. Students must have the capability to work independently and remember to check in with the online course forum daily for new assignments or due dates. Most student complaints regarding online courses are about the lack of communication and official lecture time.

On the plus side, online courses are very convenient for the distance learner. Students may find online courses to be a better alternative to class time than having to drive out to a campus.
