Campus Strictness: As far as drugs and alcohol go, just don't be stupid you'll be fine. But parking is another story, if you're in an unauthorized spot Caporama will find you and crush your soul with tickets until you're swimming in them

Campus Strictness: It is a good mix.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Strictness: The campus overall is pretty lenient; however, when a party needs to be broken up or someone needs to be escorted out of the dorm, it gets done.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Wake Forest is very lenient in its policies to on campus partying (alcohol use). The leniency with alcohol on campus is to keep people in a safe environment where, if something does happen, it's better on campus where they can get the proper attention. The campus is strict in its off campus party scene, as greek life has had some major hiccups at off campus venues in the past.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The campus is strict, but most people still break the rules and get away with it. Pretty average.

Wake Forest rules can be summed up with the following words: "Don't do anything stupid." No one—not campus police, not RAs—is going to bother you unless you are belligerently drunk or passed out. The administration and campus police will tolerate controlled and responsible parties and behavior. People get in trouble when they are being rowdy out in the open. Be safe and discrete, and you will be fine.

Regarding academics, Wake Forest is very strict. A single instance of plagiarism or cheating can result in suspension from school. The Honor Code of the University is something that faculty, students, and administration take very seriously. You do not want to have to go before the Honors and Ethics Council for a violation. Attendance can also be very strict in class, and a lack of it can result in a lower grade. This really depends on the professor and class, but with mostly small classes, it is very obvious when you are not present.

Facts & Statistics

Students Are Most Likely to Get Caught...
  • Drinking underage
  • Making too much noise in your dorm
  • Parking illegally
  • Plagiarizing
  • Smoking marijuana
Visitation Policies
Technically, there are rules regarding visitation (which is no surprise considering Wake Forest's Baptist roots), but this is usually a non-issue, as these rules are rarely enforced. As long as your roommate is OK with visitors, your RA is not going to bother you.
Did You Know?
  • Wake Forest students and professors take the Honor Code of the University very seriously. It is not uncommon for professors to give take-home or unproctored exams.
  • Wake Forest's new drinking policy allows for a warning instead of a punishment if a student is caught drinking underage.
