Campus Strictness: The campus police are pretty reasonable I suppose. I would avoid getting parking tickets however. They are very unreasonable when it comes to parking tickets.

College Student

Scholarships: I did not apply for financial aid.

Off-Campus Housing: I live off campus but with my parents so I'm not too sure about the apartments. But what I've heard for the most part they're pretty reasonable.

Local Atmosphere: The area is very populated for the most part. There is usually something to do if you have a car. If not you can bum a ride but typically it's really fun.

3 College Student

Campus Dining: The food is really good and most of the time you can always get something to eat.

3 College Student

Overall Experience: I'm not sure about other degrees, but the criminal justice program at Virginia State is very good and regarded highly.

3 College Student

Overall Experience: Overall the school is okay. There isn't a whole lot to do in the community when you're not in class but it's not horribly boring. The students are nice and it's always fun to meet new people. The instructors, for the most part, are really good teachers. You just gotta know who to talk to about which instructors to avoid.

Health & Safety: The campus police are always patrolling the campus so it's generally pretty safe. There have been a few cases of assualt and vandalism but overall it's pretty safe.

Off-Campus Dining: There are many fast food restaurants around the campus. In fact just about any fast food restaurant that you can think of is there. There is a really good cookout within walking distance of the school. It's always buzzing with people. As far as chain restaurants go you'd have to drive to most of them. The best one would probably be Texas Roadhouse. The dining experience overall is pretty average.

Greek Life: I'm not sure what Greek Life is.

College Student

Nightlife: I live off campus and commute to school so I do not attend very many parties.

4 College Sophomore

3 College Sophomore

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: i feel safe when i am not alone

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: The people are friendly and the environment is nice, but the food is sometimes horrible

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: social scenes were fun and entertaining

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There is something to do every weekend. Whether its a club or a house party, Fridays and Saturdays have plans

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I am a biology major and it is nice to have courses specifially for bio majors. It really helps to know people that are on the same track as you. The teachers are very persistent. When they teach they want you to retain the information and be able to teach someone else. They have flexible office hours and are helpful whenever you need it. They want to see you succeed. The workload is not too bad if you go at a good pace but if you leave everything last minute, it will hurt you.
