Transportation: Transportation is good; we have Ramsafe and a campus connector. However Ramsafe only runs between 5pm and 8am, so if you have a specific place to go that the campus connector bus doesn't stop, you either have to walk or find another way there.

Because VCU has centered its main campus location around Monroe Park, students are able to walk from dorms to classes and other places around the city. Driving your car downtown to go to an internship or job can be an expensive pain for students. Parking is about $6 a day. VCU does offer a free GRTC Campus Connector bus service offering stops to students who may live downtown or need to attend the Medical Campus for classes and lectures. You only need to show your VCU ID for the free ride. The buses pick up from locations about every 10 minutes. It takes about 15 minutes to get from the main VCU campus to the Medical College. It is the easiest and most hassle-free way to travel back and forth.

If you need to go to a faraway destination, Richmond International Airport is only 11 miles away from campus and offers flights comparable to the other major airports in the state. It's also common for students that don't have cars to take Greyhound or Amtrak to get wherever they may be going. There are so many different options for students to get out of town, and if you're planning a trip, you can compare prices to get the best deal.
