Facilities: The most unique thing about Virginia College is by far how modern the campus is. Every classroom is equipped with several computer stations, overhead projectors and new furnishings. Our computer network has got to be the best I have ever seen. There are plenty of computers available to students at the school, as well as a lightning fast Wi-Fi network for students who bring their laptops or tablets to class. Another unique thing about our school is that almost every program offers an internship program where you are sent to work for class credit, and if you are a good worker, you can almost count on the fact that whatever hospital or company you are assigned to is going to hire you when you graduate.

Academic Flexibility: I found that Virginia College was ready, willing, and able to accommodate me with a class schedule that would best fit my lifestyle. Almost every class has a night class that is available with an instructor that is just as certified as the daytime instructor is. If you're trying to juggle work, school and a family, this is really the best option for a school.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The people who work in the financial aid office made everything so easy. I have had trouble in the past getting everything together as far as financial aid and figuring out the paperwork that I needed to have at other schools, which in turn kept me out of school for a few years. Virginia College assigned me with an adviser with whom I sat down with and spent several hours going through step by step everything that needed to be done. Within a day I had all of my financial aid and loans taken care of and signed, I was registered for the program, met with the program director, and got my class schedule. This school is worth every single penny that I have put up to attend. They take care of giving me the education I need to become a board certified Respiratory Therapist, pay for my first attempt at the board certification test, give me all the resources and technology I need to succeed in my education, and the program directors take time to build a relationship with each and every student and make you feel like they are taking YOU personally under their wing and really pushing you to succeed. I had my doubts when I decided to try a school that runs commercials on major TV networks, but looking back I wouldn't change a thing.

Campus Resources: Virginia College has a great computer network. There's almost no need for a personal computer unless you're taking an online class at home. There are several computer labs with plenty of computers, so although you have to signup to use a computer, there is almost never a need to rush to finish what you're doing because there are plenty of computers for every student. They have a great printing capability as well, you can print up to ten pages at a time without any sort of special permission, which is great for me since I have no printer at home.

Campus Resources: Virginia College offers a wide array of student resources. Some of these include a career center, which helps with job placement, several libraries, computer labs, they even offer a computer shop where the tech department students will repair your personal computer. There aren't many activities, there are not any sports however, this school is aimed more towards students who work full time jobs and have families which would make playing sports or any other activities impossible.

Academic Experience: The workload is ok. I haven't started my internship or anything like that so I can't answer how that is. The curriculum is good as long as you stay focused.
