Academic Experience: The program that I am in is the Sports medicine/ Athletic training program. It is designed to be a two year transfer program but most students take two and a half to three years to complete the course load and obtain their associates degree. The advisor for the program is a certified athletic trainer himself and he is the professor for all of the classes specific to the major. He was also a student at the college. All of our athletic training facilities are the best of the best for junior colleges. We just had the training room totally redone and it is pretty awesome. As a student in the major you will have a chance to work with all of the sports teams at the school. Your second year in the program you are actually assigned to a team either at the college or at one of the surrounding high schools to be a trainer for. The classes that you have to take for this major aren't as easy as you may think when you first get accepted into it. It is designed to weed out those who can't keep up with the work and also those who just don't put in the effort to do it.

Academic Experience: All of the professors at my college are really helpful and help you the best that they can to pass their classes. They treat you like real human beings and actually take the time to get to know you because of the small class sizes. When you go to register for classes all that you have to do is go to the schools website and go to the course catalog. From there all you have to do is pick the classes and times that you want/need and write them down on a piece of paper along with the course number and turn it into your advisor and they will put your schedule together for you and make sure that none of the classes overlap and that they are classes that you actually need to take and then they fill in the blanks. There are study areas in every dorm and the library is open until midnight every night. The school is most known for its technology majors, nursing, and pre physical therapy.
