2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: You pay way too much for some horrible dorms freshman and sophomore year. Junior year is super nice though!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Freshman and sophomore year are fine for housing. Some dorms are better than others, but even the "worst" are still not bad at all. Junior year apartments are extremely nice, though. They are new buildings, which are very clean and spacious. No senior housing, unfortunately though.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The housing here is determine by class rank. so Freshman are furthest away from classes, sophomores are on main campus (where all the class buildings are located) and juniors have apartments (a little farther away from classes). The lottery for housing is VERY competitive. If you don't have a good registration time, or your roommate(s) don't, you'll probably live somewhere away from main campus.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Housing: Villanova's on campus housing is great on West Campus, but the dorm life on main campus is dreadful.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Not much more/less than what you should expect from a dorm. St. Monica's and Good Counsel on South Campus are the nicest ones, and Sullivan in the quad on Main Campus is the preferred place to be (although Sheehan is practically the exact same). West Campus has apartments where Juniors live, but by that point a lot of people decide to move off-campus anyway.

Since Villanova requires all freshmen to live on campus, making friends is pretty easy. South Campus houses nearly all freshmen, allowing for the majority to be familiar with people in their classes. All of the newer freshman dorms have air-conditioning and are comfortable, but they are fairly large, holding no less than 100 people. Another downside is that they are strict about signing in guests. Moriarty and Motown are older buildings in the middle of nowhere, but students who live there become very close, and there are picnic tables and grills. On Main Campus, most of the freshman dorms are off in one corner.

The dorms are comfortable and friendly, giving students a mix between privacy and social environment. Bathrooms are always clean, and there’s rarely a wait for showers. Overall, the furniture is in good shape, and the beds are actually pretty comfortable. Whatever shortcomings rooms have, a quick touch-up with some posters and pictures makes rooms more comfortable and inviting. Some smaller dorms become communities all to themselves, and everyone becomes close. In the larger dorms, most residents have a few close friends and know a whole lot more. It all boils down to preference—if you like less people, look for dorms on Main, and if you like to know a lot of people, South is it. Living on campus is convenient and fun, and few move off before senior year.
