Transportation: Being on such a large, spread out campus transportation becomes extremely helpful if your classes are far apart. Included with tuition is a bus pass that all students receive their first week with being on campus. This becomes very nice tool to acquire for the winter months. There are hundreds of bus stops located all around campus and an app that can be downloaded that shows when the busses will arrive at your stop and where they will go. Taking public transportation at my university is extremely easy.

Facilities: The architecture that encompasses my campus is brilliant. Mixing the abstract with the traditional and the old with the new, each of our academic buildings has it's own unique character built into it. The residence halls all range from being years old to brand new this year, but that doesn't ruin the quality of the dorm at all.

Facilities: Everyone on campus is friendly and open. I see familiar faces everyday walking to and from classes. I have joined three different student orgs since the start of my college career and I absolutely love it.

Local Atmosphere: Madison is a very vibrant city that has tons of activities to offer regardless of the weather. Sitting on the terrace overlooking Lake Mendota to walking down State Street any student here can find something to fit their interest.

Drug Safety: I'm not a huge partier so I don't really know the scene.

Facilities: We're right by the lake which gives us some gorgeous views! Oh, and snowball fights and sliding down Bascom!

Facilities: Um, I don't live on campus so I don't do a whole lot.

Parking: There are some 2 hour spots around but it's a little bit of a walk to get to campus from them. On campus parking is awful and expensive. And they are good at enforcing and ticketing if you don't have a permit.

Overall Experience: I transfered here my sophmore year and I'm enjoying it a lot.

Weather: It's WI, there's snow in winter and it can be a beast sometimes. Bascom Hill is Mt. Everest in winter and since we're between two lakes it can get a little windy and chilly but it's survivable. Just bundle up.

Nightlife: I don't go out a whole lot and don't live on campus but it's really close to State Street which always has something to do.

Computers: The computers in the labs are usually pretty great. The wireless is a little iffy in some of the buildings but you can usually get connected without a hassle.

Transportation: The buses are sometimes late but that is to be expected. Overall though I feel they are pretty reliable.

Guys & Girls: Uh, I haven't had any issues with my classmates or anyone else on campus.

4 College Junior

Majors: I enjoy it. I sometimes with there were a few more pop culture like classes but overall I think they have a variety of classes that intrigue me.

Campus Strictness: I don't live on campus so I don't really have a valid opinion here.

Majors: I haven't exactly declared yet but my program has very clear requirements and I feel prepared to face them through my college career. Some challenges I have faced are the math requirements for the Wildlife Ecology major. Math here is fairly difficult and advanced.

Majors: There are so many majors you can choose here at UW Madison and the specificity throughout the majors is also awesome. Ive never been in an internship but I do plan on having one because of the career experience I will gain. The internship field here at UW is easy to find because of all the different research opportunities on campus.

Campus Dining: I did not stay on campus my freshman year here at UW because I am from Madison. I did not feel the need to stay in the campus housing my first year so I did not experience in campus food choices.

Overall Experience: college is a great experience where you learn to challenge yourself and achieve different life goals. My favorite experiences are realizing the greatness Ive achieved in my classes at the end of the semester. Celebrating the good work that I've done. My school is very unique because of its house party scene as well. It advocates for underage drinking right from the get go which produces some scary situations but overall a great learning experience.

Students put a lot of time and energy into their undergraduate education. Luckily for those at UW, many feel it has been a positive experience. The college atmosphere, expansive campus, and intense academics are only some of the reasons students enjoy UW so much. Students feel they are able to form relationships with other students, as well as their professors. Furthermore, UW leaves them prepared for their future.

An individual’s undergraduate experience is one of the most exciting times in their lives. It is often the first time they are away from parents and making serious decisions about their future. Therefore, it is essential to pick the best university to spend these busy years at. UW offers amazing academics, an inviting atmosphere, and energetic student body. Its location geographically makes it comfortable as well as gorgeous. The facilities are very accommodating, as is the transportation system. Though like any school, there are things that can be improved upon or changed. Parking remains a prevalent issue, for instance. Fortunately, though, issues such as diversity and improvements to the quality of the dorm food are being addressed. Students generally leave the school feeling satisfied and prepared for what’s to come. Wherever you decide to spend your undergraduate years, definitely consider the University of Wisconsin as a practical, exciting, and fulfilling option.
