3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: There are a lot of rules that some people in force and others don't so it is hard to figure out what you can actually do.

Campus Strictness: Campus cops aren't too big of a deal. As long as you aren't being drunk and loud they'll leave you alone most of the time.

Campus Strictness: The UW-Stout rules and polices do have some effect on students when it comes to our academics and social lives. noise violations are huge on campus when it comes to later hours in the night but the hours start a little to early for students liking. If students are in the basement studying or playing music while doing projects we are told to turn the music off and to stay quiet. Other then the noise violations the campus polices are respected by the students.

Campus Strictness: It's ideal. They want to leave you alone so you can do your own thing but they also want you to be guided in the right direction

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: At Stout, we have something called "Quiet Hours" which is where everyone has to try there best to be very quiet in the dorms. The first two weeks were a tad hard just because of everyone trying to get use to there new living environment. As of now, once in a while someone will be a bit too loud but never loud enough to cause trouble. Stout is a very strict school when it comes the the students themselves.

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

In recent years, the University has started to crack down on underage drinking. If students are busted in the residence halls, they will pay a hefty price. Students can get a fine, be put on probation, and their parents will even be notified. If students plan on taking part in illegal activities, they should find a place off campus to do so. If students insist on partying in the dorms, they should keep the party low-key and quiet. The more attention students attract, the more likely they are going to get caught. The RAs in the building ultimately make the decision to bust a student or not. However, most RAs don't go looking for parties to bust because it means a lot of trouble and paperwork for them.

The Menomonie and UW-Stout police departments have been joining forces lately to bust large parties off campus, where minors are being served. Be advised that the next party you attend underage may be surrounded by flood lights and police officers when you try to exit. A student's best bet is to have a good time with a small group of people rather than at large parties.
