Off-Campus Dining: Best place for a student on a budget? Use the meal plan. You might consider local stores to buy items to cook from scratch. Stay the heck away from the expensive places unless you are wealthy.

Health & Safety: This place is very safe. however the close proximity of bars and their association to nightlife puts some students at risk. Date rapes have occurred. I think it is because the dating scene too often includes alcohol and other drugs that impair judgement.

I don't know anyone who was raped, although I participated in in-class discussions of the problem. Movies and media encourage young people to think of college as a time to engage in heavy drinking. I think that is a mistake. Walking down water street, you are likely to bump into at least one inebriated male or female. If you w ll allow me to influence you in this regard, I will say to you, "please drink in moderation and only in the company of people who have earned your trust." come here to learn and ,for a while, live the good life that these beautiful settings can provide. You will be an adult responsible for yourself. If I could stay here and protect you I would. but when you get here i will have graduated. Be careful!

Overall Experience: You know how they talk about students getting attached to their professors? Its true. I have not met one professor on this campus who was not passionate about their subject. You will not be bored, you will learn and in most cases you will leave the class with very positive feelings about the professor.I think it is human nature. You appreciate it when someone helps you to learn. On this campus, that is what they do.

Overall Experience: Liberal arts degrees prepare you for entry into your profession. they also give you enough education to be flexible enough for other experiences. The rate of career placement is always respectable.Even better, you can leave this place ready to create your own path, build your own business and stand alone. that is the truest value of an education from a college like this. You are empowered to free yourself and pursue the passions of your heart. So, come and join us. Seize this opportunity to make your life rich. I wish you success in whatever field you choose to pursue.

Off-Campus Housing: Let's just leave it at, "there are a variety of settings." Choose wisely.

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: You will find many options for dining. the place is covered with places to eat( dining halls, restaurants, kiosks or vending options. You will be close to cost effective food delivery options and not just pizza. the campus does have a meal plan! I eat on campus only to satisfy my craving for certain of the many yummy foods available. It can be as delicious as eating at my home.

Campus Housing: Students who live off campus may be frustrated during winter storms. They often wonder why the campus opens when all other schools have a snow day.the students in the dorm have no problem getting to class so all students are expected to find a way to get in.So, it is best to get into a dorm if you can. local student housing near campus is also available. I live outside campus. I enjoy the advantage of living in a place without party events or even other students. In your own rental, you may have more quiet time to study.

Guys & Girls: they are people so I cannot tell you who you will meet. In general students tend to be conservative, cooperative and friendly. You will notice some eccentricity on the fringes. I have found the eccentric ones to be very hard-working and serious about shared projects.Yes--some students do manage to end up finding future mates.the dating scene is very productive that way. There seem to be many single females working their way through college. Some have shared their concern with me about the difficulty of finding local employment. Its not easy for the students who do not have a family bankroll behind them.

Facilities: It is best, in my opinion to come ready to focus on your task. However, the campus is wonderful and beautiful. I did not rate it as high for study spaces because a study spaces outside the dorm are in public areas. that works fine for some people but, I prefer a quiet enclosed space to study. Green spaces are everywhere. You will notice students resting their brains under trees and on the lovely lawn all over campus.there is something refreshing about the creek that flows through the lower campus. there is a lovely river flowing next to campus as well.computer labs ma be dedicated to certain majors or public computer labs may be taken over by classes during crunch times. It is a good idea to access a laptop and connect to the school that way. You can access everything you need and write your papers that way.

Majors: Or so I hear from other students. My chance to apply is coming up.

5 College Senior

Majors: It was not difficult. Department leaders are happy to guide you through selection of courses you will need to succeed in your major. since the initial requirements are broad, you find yourself eligible to choose between majors.Have fun with that!

Local Atmosphere: This is a beautiful area blessed with deciduous Oak, spruce and Pine trees among others.waterways provide excellent boating, swimming and fishing.Sometimes the skyline is breathtaking with its dazzling sunrises and sunsets. Locals love to preserve the peaceful natural setting. As long as students help with that they are welcome here. The locals are hard-working, generous and friendly. The downtown area is currently being refurbished. There are many places to shop in and around Eau Claire. The parks are large enough for big gatherings and cookouts.Carson park is the location of non-campus baseball and football games. If you are looking for pleasant family friendly recreation, this is the place to live.

Academics: Its is simply a top-notch Liberal Arts College.

4 College Senior

Academics: It is a broad-based education. It affords opportunity to be exposed to exciting varieties of knowledge. as part of our learning we engage in community service. subject matter presents local immersion experiences within the United States to solidify learning of language, peoples, politics, science and psychology.Research opportunities include chances to study some aspects of your subject in other countries. My eye is on Africa!

3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: As long as you are not cutting up or endangering others, the administration leaves you alone. Most of us spend our time studying more than anything else .

3 College Senior

Nightlife: Nightlife takes place in an area next to campus. Activities are many. the only problem is local ordinances noise ordinances aimed at students hamper the level of excitement students can enjoy at their events.

4 College Senior

Athletics: We have a top performing Basketball team. Because of their reputation most students are proud to refer to themselves by the same name as the team " Blugold." Our sports facilities are more than adequate to meet our needs.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I have never lived off-campus, so I don't know much about it.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Personally I have never felt nervous walking alone at night. But if you do just go in groups.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Look and apply for scholarships, many students don't because they think that they are not qualified, but they are!!!

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Living on campus is a great way for students to meet other students with similar interests!

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Eau Claire may not be the most physically diverse campus but there are always ways to learn about diversity and other cultures.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Authoritarian figures may be strict but they are that way to keep students safe!

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There are always ways, from movies on the weekend to performances in the Cabin for students to meet other students.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: As long as you are a student that is determined, has good grades, and is involved.

The University of Eau Claire is absolutely amazing. Most of the professors here are very friendly and willing to assist you in your learning endeavors. Since the campus has such a small student population, you feel as if you get to know everybody around you. You make relationships with your professors, and they know you by your name. Also, do not be afraid to ask your professors questions. It makes the learning process that much easier.

Eau Claire is different from many colleges because it feels like a small town inside of a big city. This University is unique because people here care for one another. If you ever have a problem, all you need to do is ask someone around you, and they will more than likely be willing to help out. The campus is very welcoming and involved with the surrounding community. You will never feel left out if you join a couple of organizations and make friends your freshman year.

The University is beautiful, especially during the fall, so don’t forget that you can study outside on the campus mall. Students here just don’t focus on academics; they focus on having fun as well. During the school day, you will see students studying and playing Frisbee on the campus lawn. We are a very friendly campus here, and we enjoy meeting new people.
