Weather: Virginia weather changes every 5 minutes, but we've got all four seasons. It's very hot at the beginning of each school year and some dorms still don't have A/C.

Weather: The weather is a little unpredictable, it changes yearly.

3 College Junior

Weather: Winter sucks, and summer can be bad if you don't have air conditioning, but fall and spring are wonderful.

Charlottesville is definitely a four-season town. The winters are frigid, the summers are sweltering, and the autumns and springs are pleasant, but rainy. Most students find the weather unpredictable and varied, but fun and interesting all the same. The falls and springs are probably the most enjoyable parts of the year for UVA students who love
being outside.

To give you an example, some years ago, there was a terrible drought over the end of the summer that didn't break until November. The winter that year was filled with sporadic, heavy snows that didn't end until March; the spring was also particularly wet. Given such unpredictable weather, it's best to come prepared with your wardrobe. Have clothes for all seasons on hand, even when it may not be that particular season. Overall, everyone seems to agree that the weather, combined with UVA grounds and scenery, is really very lovely.
