4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: For the most part, everyone seems pretty nice and open. However it depends on who you run into. Most people are fine talking to you but some can come off a little cold.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Most of the people I've met from the University of Utah are the creative/artsy types, of whom I love. They are incredibly intelligent, in the know in regards to politics and things happening in the community, are kind, and are extremely unique. Everyone I've met has been very confident in who they are and their art.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Living in Utah and right on the Wasatch mountains has many students: guys and girls, living active lives. Many are into hiking, biking, and running during the summer months, and turn to winter sports like skiing and snowboarding.

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: I met my girlfriend here, and she's the love of my life, and has everything I'm looking for and more. It was complete chance that I met her, but I feel incredibly lucky and overjoyed to have her in my life. I don't really pay attention to the girls aside from studying with them, but they're smart, driven, and fun. I'm sure that there are plenty of great girls for guys to date, and vice versa. I have met some of my best friends, and they're not only dedicated to their work, but also looking to have some fun. I haven't met anyone I truly disliked.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There are many people that attend this school and there is a lot of diversity.

The University of Utah is obviously populated by many Mormons who follow the adage "Bring 'em Young." That being said, there are a lot of married students at the U. However, this should not discourage you from trying to find love on campus. It's a big school and that equates to many single people, kind of the strength-in-numbers approach.

Many Mormons feel it's necessary to date and marry within their faith, and the Institute across the street from campus does a good job of introducing young people. For those not of Mormon faith, it then becomes your responsibility to meet and mingle with others. There are plenty of clubs, organizations, parties, and different means to meet people. The University of Utah has some very good-looking people, but be warned—look for wedding rings before making that final approach!

Social Scene
Because the U is a commuter campus, the sense of a "campus community" is largely nonexistent. If you take the time to get involved with clubs and organizations, however, you'll be able to carve out your own little community. For those who live on campus, though, dorm life is reasonably healthy and provides ample opportunities to meet people.
Hookups or Relationships?
Depends. If you're Mormon, you're probably looking to get married, and if you are married, you're not looking at all. If you're not Mormon, you are probably looking for more of a casual relationship. Overall, there seems to be a rush to get to the altar, which engulfs the whole state of Utah no matter where you go. Maybe it's just in the water.
Dress Code
People at the U come in a wide variety of wardrobes, but by and large, "casual" is the name of the game. The more dressed up someone is, the less time he or she has spent at the U. To buy a few extra minutes of sleep, a lot of commuters forgo certain social amenities (like shaving, makeup, and so on).
