It is awesome to live on campus cause there is always so much going on. Dorms are dorms but it is way better then staying off campus.
Living on campus have perks and amenities that not many students would see right away. The social interactions with students, professors, and faculty is invaluable to building a great social network. The residential hall are consistently watch over, and order is maintain to a good degree. There are always activities and events happening just right around the corner on campus. Since this particular campus - the University of Tulsa - is small enough, everything is within walking distance.
The living spaces themselves are really not bad at all. In fact they are expanding their housing options to some off campus apartments and a new residence hall. The problem that I have with campus housing is the hassels of signing up for a housing assignment as well as how helpful the housing office is, not the RA's, AC's, ACA's, or RD's, but the people working in the office. From observation, and a little bit of experience, the office is disorganized and can potentially not be helpful at all or certain situations
The freshman dorm at TU look great from the outside. But when you get inside they are dark, hollow, smelly, and the bathrooms are the worse! The houses are a bit better because you get decent meals but I would still say are in poor condition in terms of cleanliness. I think apartments are a better option as an upperclassmen. The plus side is that the dorms are pretty conviently located near classes.
The freshman dorm, Fisher South, is a great place to make friends. The University apartments are a great place to live and they aren't much more expensive than the dorms.
