1 College Junior

Transportation: What school-provided transportation that exists is usually used only for taking the Latino students to Walmart.

3 College Senior

Transportation: Carpools are the most convenient way to get around here if you don't have a car. Otherwise, it's either walking or riding a bike.

There's also a local bus depot that always leaves around 3-3:30 in the evenings.

Transportation: Car Not Needed – For the campus, you don't need a car or bike. A store is only a few blocks away, but the school will run vans on a regular basis for students. Students are more than happy to help others out on a trip to the airport, etc.

Transportation: Walking Is Great – We are a tiny campus, so most people live on campus. Once on campus everyone walks from building to building, bikes, or some students have taken up skateboarding to classes. No one has to spend any extra money for transportation. For long-distance travel, students often carpool to the places they wish to go.

Vehicle transportation is not an essential necessity when the basic stores are about a block away. Also, students use Spadra Trail to walk across town all the way to Rogers Avenue. A car is great to have, but it's not a must-have at the University of the Ozarks.

Students are always willing to help each other out when it comes to giving someone a ride somewhere, as long as the other person can help with paying the gas cost. The University does have bus shuttles that transport a lot of students to Wal-Mart or other school gatherings. Long-distance transportation can be provided by the University bus shuttles or by carpooling with other students on campus. Clarksville has no taxi services or public buses, but limos and airport transportation are available. Being able to get around campus does not require a car, so the majority of students rides bikes, walks, and even skateboards to class. The University does all it can to make transportation not a huge obstacle for its residents.
