There is not much nightlife in Clarksville. Crosswoods is the only bar available to 21-and-up college students. Clubs are practically nonexistent, and students go to other cities like Fort Smith, Russellville, Little Rock, and Fayetteville in order to visit the more interesting attractions. In town, there is a movie theater and a bowling alley. These are the only locations for underage students to retreat to. Every now and then Clarksville holds a few country music festivals and car shows, but these events are seasonal. Also, the annual peach festival, Christmas parade, Spring Greening Festival, and the county fair are other events Clarksville residents make a point to attend.
On campus, students try to create their own entertainment for what the town lacks. On the weekends and other occasions, students try to throw parties or go on group outings. Sometimes people go out to eat, go to a movie, play games, go for a walk, drive to other cities, go to a nearby mall, and every once in a while, drink. The nightlife exists more on campus than off campus. Clubs and organizations at the University of the Ozarks try to provide an entertaining activity every weekend to keep students engaged and not bored. Most students are too busy to participate in the nightlife anyway.
