3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Clarkville is really small but it close to Fort Smith. If you wanted you could go there to have fun.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Average Town – There's really not much to do here unless you go looking for things to do. There's a walking trail, several restaurants with several ethnicies to choose from, all the basic discount stores (Fred's, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Dollar Tree), Wal-Mart, Stage, Factory Connection, Hibbett Sports, and a decent movie theater if you're bored. You just have to go looking for things to do.

1 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Walmart is the only decent place to shop. There should be more stores available to the students.

Local Atmosphere: The Town Is What You Make of It – Clarksville is a small town, but the community likes having college kids around. There is a movie theater and a bowling alley. More places to eat are needed, but its getting better (5 new places in the last 6-8 months). The surroundings are is beautiful and has lots of outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking. The campus is the cultural hub for the area, so most events are just a few steps away.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Clarksville, Arkansas – Clarksville is a small town in Arkansas. I do have to say that it does not have large attractions, but it does have a peaceful college environment. If you want to take school seriously, have a helpful staff and students, and love nature, then Ozarks is for you.

Life in Clarksville, Ark. is not the liveliest. The town is no place for younger kids, teens, college students, older adults, or the elderly to have fun. Everyone has to invent their own form of entertainment, or they have to spend money on gas and an activity in another town. It’s very inconvenient for people who come to this school to not have anything to relieve the stress from classes and course work. A lot of students make it a regular tradition to go home on the weekends, due to how little there is in Clarksville.

The Student Life Office and the Campus Activities Board (CAB) organize activities to keep students engaged on campus, but people still would rather go to a different town to hang out. Clarksville does not have many nearby attractions of interest for college students, so it is hard to persuade people to stay on campus over the weekend. Due to the lack of entertainment for the residents at the University, money and joining an organization are necessities if a person doesn’t want to be bored all year. Even though there is not much to do, the education students receive is totally worth it.
