Health & Safety: A couple of years ago, heard of cars being broken into, but havent heard anything since. Always well-lit at night. Campus police will escort you to your dorm or car if you call them. There is an 11pm curfew for residents and which non-residents cannot go in unless a resident calls campus police to let them in. I feel very safe.

Computers: Now, since the school has admitted more students, I feel like the library's computers are always taken. I bring my own laptop to school and then print when I need to. The printers are usually available when I need them.

3 College Junior

Diversity: I have seen many students with diverse backgrounds but do not know exactly what the numbers are. It seems like there are mostly Hispanic and students from Mexico here but it seems to be diversifying as our school grows larger.

Weather: Sometimes it can be very humid during Fall, but once it's close to Winter, it is really nice! And Spring time is good as well.

Campus Dining: It's Pretty Good – As a commuter, I don't get to fully experience the entire dining halls here on campus, but the few times that I do eat here, I have enjoyed myself pretty well.

Local Atmosphere: Great Cultural Experience! San Antonio has so much to see and experience as far as being known for it's Latin roots and origin. San Antonio is home to the famous Alamo downtown which is only about a 10 minute drive from the school itself, the Witte museum which is only a 5 minute drive from the school and there's also other attractions such as the Japanese Tea Garden, the Botanical Garden, the Art Museum, the Quarry Shopping Center and Cinema, the famous San Antonio River Walk, and North Star Mall all within a 10-15 minute drive from the school. This is a great place to come experience what friendship, family, and great food and company feel like.

Majors: Good Variety – I like the variety of majors that they have at this school.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Little Bit of Hang Out Spots – personally i don't party in campus so i know that there are usually events in the evening.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I Like Chick Fil a but the Buffet Is Too Expensive. It is better just to eat off campus there is a bill millers and a Mc Donalds around the corner is cheaper and faster.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Never had any problem at the Computer Lab in the Library it is an nice and quiet area to do homework and it stays open till midnight which is very convenient.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Sunny Most of the Times – Most of the time the weather at UIW is very sunny and bright. The temperature can range from the 85 to the 100's. Other days may be cool and nice out to eat on campus. At times we do get storms rolling in on some few occasions.

Guys & Girls: Great Community – The students at Incarnate Word are very diffrent and range from all over the world. Some are very kind and help those who are trying to locate their classes. If you do have questions most of the time they will help you find whatever your looking for.

Greek Life: Greek life at Incarnate Word is very active, but also very helpful at times. They share many diffrent interest for all kinds of people. They also try to include everyone into their gatherings for people can have a chance to see how greek life is. It's a great oppurtunity, but it may not be for everyone due to the active life of being students.

Weather: San Antonio weather is usually hot so when walking around campus you sweat and by the time you reach class you feel tired. it begins to cool off more in the fall and winter so it isn't as tiring as in the spring and summer.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: the scholarships are helpful at the school, but when searching for a scholarship on the website it's a bit confusing. Some of the scholarship sites that the school offers aren't updated, but the scholarships that the school offers themselves are very helpful.

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Nightlife isn't happening so much on campus, but more specifically downtown or across town from campus at the clubs. Club Rio and cowboys are the most popular locations and as well as house parties. The more people you know the more you'll hear about parties happening. There is also a hangout near campus I've only been there during the day to eat but at night it's mainly for +21.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: It's completely safe, although I do not llive on campus I have many friends who do and not once have I heard of any crime or any unsafety issue on campus. Even when I'm on campus I feel perfectly fine, there's always campus security around and they make sure their job is done and done right.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Lab Is Always Full! I know our computers must be great because it's always so full!

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Not THAT Great – Not the best football team and not many people support them either.

5 College Junior

Campus Housing: THe housing on Campus is great, I love it. But the process of getting a place to stay takes a long time and you might have a hard time getting through to the portal.

4 College Junior

Weather: Gets cold in the winter, warm in the spring time, hot in the summer. Classrooms are compatible with the weather.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Student Friendly – Lots of apartments in the area that are student friendly.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: The nightlife around the university is very variable there are many things to do on a normal night on the town any night

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The universesity often has a wide range and variety to experience. It's located downtown so there is many shops, restaurants, and scenery to experience.

1 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There is not off campus housing offered by this university.

The University of the Incarnate Word has so much to offer. From the academics and excellent professors to the life-long friendships, you will not look back and regret coming to UIW. Most of the students really enjoy their experience at UIW. The friendships formed here usually last through college and beyond. There are also more genuine friendships since UIW is a small school, and keeping in contact with fellow classmates is very easy because you see the same people almost daily. UIW is a very diverse school, so it is like a "small world." The memories formed at UIW are endless.

The education is top-of-the-line, as it thoroughly prepares each student to excel in his or her desired field of study. The smaller atmosphere allows for more personal attention for each student. The relationships between students and teachers is very strong, and professors know students by their names because of the low student-to-teacher ratio. Sure, you will hear complaints here and there, whether it be about residence life or the cafeteria food, but keep in mind that everyone has different tastes, and nothing is perfect. Overall, students are very satisfied with their education at UIW and all that it brings them not only while they are in school but after they graduate as well. Professors and advisers make sure that their students are more than prepared for their careers and for whatever life may bring in the future.
