3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: DC is a very fast paced city. Many people go to school like myself but also many people work here too. If you are on the bus or subway you have to share space with those going to work. Most of the time it depends on what time of the day you are traveling, but the buses and trains run on a fixed schedule and it is easy to get to class. Only during rush hours in the morning and evening it can be very crowded.

UDC is located in Ward 3, which is one of the wealthiest areas of D.C. The northwest quadrant of D.C. is very busy, but even though it is an urban area, there are plenty of trees, and Rock Creek Park is less than two miles away. The area surrounding campus is mostly residential with small businesses and retail spaces that result in high traffic from people coming and going from Maryland. In general, the attitudes of the people who live here are similar to those of conservative New Yorkers.

D.C. is a huge college town, which means there are tons of young people around. Howard University Law School is across the street from UDC, and American University is less than two miles from campus. And within a five-mile radius of UDC, you will find Catholic, George Washington, Georgetown, Howard, and Trinity Washington universities. Overall, there is a friendly atmosphere with a lot of educated people.
