Campus Dining: The food is very heavy, unhealthy, and seemingly prepared at a sub par level. The "made to order" food is always burgers and fried, and very greasy. I gained so much weight when living on campus because of the lack of healthy choices in the dining hall. The worst part is that you're forced to opt into the meal plan, unless you live off campus.

Campus Strictness: You're treated like adults, and it's fairly easy to bring drugs/alcohol into a dorm as they can't check bags. As long as you're responsible and not affecting other people, you can do as you please. However, when it comes to late nights in the academic halls, they can give you a hard time for no reason. They don't understand why students feel the need to stay in the halls late (for projects, obviously.) and will easily get aggravated if they see a student in the studios after dark.

Overall Experience: I love UARTS, I'm surrounded by motivated people (many of which are still grounded to reality and not in some fantasy world) and talented staff. I've had so many influential moments as an artist and my teachers are 100% supportive in everything I do. I can't tell you how many times I've emailed a teacher at 3 in the morning about a project, and they respond with excitement and support.

Drug Safety: The school tries very hard to keep students aware of drug use and to report it/help a friend/don't do it. However, tons of people stuff do it, especially off campus. I went to an ART GALLERY that several UARTS students were in, and they started doing coke in the bathroom. It's very visible though, so it's easy to stay away from.

Nightlife: UARTS students that rent houses have parties, since there is no greeklife. These are normally a hike into south philly, as taxis are expensive. I partied as a freshman, but people charge at the door just so you can chill out in their smokey house. There are plenty of bars for when you're 21+, and they're great! But for under that you're looking to create your own good time.

Off-Campus Dining: We don't have specific places that UARTS collaborates with, however there are tons of restaurants in center city that have student discounts and are fairly cheap, just not the healthiest.

2 College Junior

Parking: We don't have parking places specifically for students (only staff) so off campus students would have to spend their own money, however the few that commute via car are few and far between. Most have apartments or use mass transit.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: They're very difficult with helping parents and students understand the financial process and paying for it, at one point I actually had to hand them cash in order to apply for classes because they failed to help us successfully pay my tuition when my scholarship ran out.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: We're art students, so everyone is pretty interesting. No one cares how you look or dress, and it doesn't influence how people view you. If you're nice, people will love you no matter what.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I've used the health services at one point when I suspected I had a UTI, and they helped me find a doctor that took my health insurance and helped make an appointment for me same day. Everyone here is very aware and well-educated on sexual assault, and as a result I've never seen or heard of any happening.

College Junior

Greek Life: We don't have greek life at UARTS, which is one of the reasons I enjoy the school.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: It is a great area to be in

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: There are many choices for transportation everywhere, which is very great!

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Many people are involved in it. However they do it at their own places and do not spread it to people who do not do it.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Living in the dorms are great. You get to be very close to school, and you have fellow students living around you. The only bad thing is that the dorms are very expensive to live in and you are required to get a dining plan.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: We do not have any Greek Life at our school.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: The winter months there is a lot of snow. That makes it harder to get around to class. However the school does a good job in shoveling and keeping the sidewalks walkable!

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The buildings are very safe. Sometimes the surrounding areas are not as safe as they could be.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: The most important criteria for admission is the preparation. Wether it is putting together a portfolio of artwork or practicing an audition song, dance, or monologue. The application process was pretty simple and accommodated to different people well.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: The illustration program is hard but it is great! It challenges you everyday which is the best part. You learn so much from the classes the offer.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Some things are very strict others are not so much

5 College Sophomore

Computers: The school provides so much to the students!

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Lots of stuff is always going on!

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: So many great things to do all over campus!

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Philly is a beautiful city. Everyone should come and enjoy
