4 College Junior

Weather: Texas, what can you say? We can experience all four seasons in one week. Most the weather is beautiful, sunny and warm (even in the winter). We definitely have our harsh weather days but those are pretty infrequent!

Diversity: Every student here is different, we are all from different place of thinking. I see no problems with the diversity of people here. Everyone here recognizes that we all have a common goal, to graduate college and make a difference in our futures!!

4 College Junior

Scholarships: I was awarded some scholarships, no pell grants and had to take out a small student loan to pay for my tuition. The process of requesting a loan was extremely easy and it was directed by fellow students who wanted to make the experience a good one.

4 College Junior

Computers: Printing fees are included in our tuition. We have a large computer lab and a library with computers available as well. High speed wireless internet is available to all students and you might not need your laptop but there are plenty of plugs available in and out of the class for charging them!

Majors: No doubt, school is hard! However, it is going to be worth it in the long run. All of the educators at my school are amazing and are rooting for us all to do well!!

5 College Junior

Majors: The admission process was super easy, and everyone was exceptionally helpful!

College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I don't do drugs, nor do I associate with anyone that does drugs.

Academics: I love music, so anything music related is great. I take all music classes and am in the band. I love doing what I do.

College Sophomore

Diversity: I stay out of talking about religion and ethnicity, but what I have witnessed is that most are accepted.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The campus is generally not that strict when it comes to parking, even though the security officers patrol the parking lots looking for parking stickers.

College Sophomore

Nightlife: I don't know, I usually go straight home after my classes and don't go out.

Local Atmosphere: It's actually good. There are a ton of things to do in Tyler and a lot of places to eat. Usually people are nice, however, in a typical town, there are some unfriendly people.

Scholarships: The only issue I had to deal with was waiting to be awarded since it was during the summer when I registered.

Off-Campus Dining: There are tons of places to go but everything is so far from campus kids usually just eat there.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Most kids just walk around on campus, if anything else is needed like shopping they drive to the mall.

Campus Housing: I miss living on campus. I made some of the best memories and had some of the best friends. The amount of time to get to class was almost perfect. The only thing that I would change living in the dorm were the meal plan options.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I really like the Health care clinic the doctors are great and the nurses are very attentive.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus housing that is close to the school is usually taken over by the kids that go to TJC, also it seems that the crime rate of those buildings are higher so no one from the school wants to live there for fear of things getting stolen or such. Most UTTyler kids live in other apartments that are a little ways from the school because they seem and are safer.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I have no received any financial aid from my school or from FAFSA

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The campus strictness isn't that harsh. They are fairly understanding and know that we all just want our freedom. The alcohol strictness is however very strict which is a wonderful thing in my opinion.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There isn't any drug use on campus that I have ever seen. The students keep most of those issues under wraps

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: I don't really go out at night I usually just go out dancing on Thursday the rest of my outing occur with friends catching up and watching movies all night. There isn't much to do

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The athletics are good, the school spirit and importance of the sports aren't very involved.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Most of the professors are very attentive, and very willing to work with students. The study options aren't very well; I believe that there should be more one on one tutoring offered.

4 College Senior

Transportation: Tyler has a great transportation system and I am not sure what the school provides. I think most people have or use cars to get in and around town. This is not a walking city but I do see people riding bikes more.
