Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The University of Texas at El Paso provides students with a period of time that they can look back on fondly, like shuffling through an album of memories. By the end of their stay, students think of the school as a part of their family. Resources are available in droves to keep students on their feet and motivated. As far as events, UTEP promotes itself very efficiently. Minerpalooza is an event hosted on campus to promote the season-opener game for the football season. This event is similar to a fair, and many students and residents of the city attend every year.

As far as preparing students for achieving their goals, UTEP opens doors. Internships are available through school programs or advertised to give students a broader view. Opportunities are presented for programs outside of El Paso, giving students the chance to step outside the front door. The University prepares students to be first-rate versions of themselves, with a staff dedicated to the school’s vision of growing and changing for the best. The students may be diverse, but everyone seems to smile and be very approachable.

Off-Campus Housing: It depends what kind of atmosphere you like. If you rent around the campus prices vary but remember it it going to be noisy because there a lot going on around campus. But also, El Paso is a large city and you have different areas with different atmospheres to choose from.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: If you take all the information they require everything will go great. Even if you are missing any information they are willing to help you attain additional information.

3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: It's okay, but they are very strict with parking, especially inside the campus. Only students with parking permits purchase for inside campus are allowed.

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Lots of restaurants and clubs around campus.

Campus Housing: I don't stay in campus but I had friends that do. The housing there is terrible, outdated, filthy, and does't feel safe at all. There is really not much to do there since it is very strict and students are really not into getting citations nowadays.
