Local Atmosphere: The local atmosphere of El Paso is pretty good. It's really calm during the day, and very fun later in the evening. There could be more attractions, but for a college student it suffices.

Local Atmosphere: The city is not too small but there are not so many other attractions or activities besides clubbing and bars, unfortunately.

2 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The city life is very vague and honestly there is no school spirit!

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: The local atmosphere in which my school is located is the best! Right on Mesa St. there are many bars that students could easy walk to on weekends for a night of fun. The prices are also very affordable. Not only is Mesa St. surrounded by fun bars that play good music, but there are also many restaurants to choose from. A few miles down are clubs and even museums. We have a beautiful art and Holocaust museum. The newest addition to our city has been a baseball stadium which looks amazing. The baseball stadium is a great place for everyone to just have a good time whether it is with friends or family.

Local Atmosphere: The area where the university is located is very student-friendly. There is a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, parks, and other entertainment venues that welcome you. The city transportation services are a great way of moving around the city if you do not have other means.

El Paso is an enjoyable experience, with just enough to keep residents entertained. The city prides itself in living a most enjoyable life, appreciating all of the little things that bigger cities either ignore or take for granted. Students should educate themselves on the history of El Paso, its rich culture, and everything it stands for. However, students should not just sit around and expect media advertisements to direct their paths in terms of activities. In El Paso, students have to dig for the fun, to seek and find an adventure. Students who surround themselves with a diverse group of people willing to try something new will eventually become familiar with the cultural gold mines of the area.

There is never a dull moment for those with ambition to create something new. Activities range on a wide scale from rural to urban. El Paso welcomes many performers throughout the year, including local performers at parks and theaters. Besides entertainment, students should travel a couple of miles into the rural landscapes to enjoy nature. There are several lakes to the north and south of El Paso where students can enjoy fishing. Plus, students can utilize the Franklin Mountains and hike up some trails. Truly, the opportunities are endless.
