Tips for Getting In
Getting into UTEP is not difficult. Coming out of high school with a C average will be enough to lift the weight. If you're coming in as a transfer student, a GPA of 2.0 will do the job.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Find out which professors educate the best.
  • Have a solid plan in terms of courses and a major that will help towards your desired career. So ask questions and do research regarding your long-term career goal.
  • Look into grants and student loans. There are many available for students.
  • Purchase a parking permit as soon as possible. Space and permits are limited.
Interviews & Information Sessions
Prospective students can talk to UTEP admissions counselors through campus tours or through Miner Chat on the University's Web site.
Campus Tours
Fall/spring tours operate Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Tours are approximately 90 minutes long. When requesting a campus tour, it is required to notify the school three days in advance of the desired date.
Overnight Visits
No overnight stay programs are conducted at UTEP.
