Computers: There are places to get free printing, as a college student, this will be to your benefit. Oh how I love this school for its technology, they are going to perk it up for 2015 so stay tuned.

Academics: UTA is great for engineers and nursing students, these are the top study areas, nursing students, I (an engineering student) envy you, you have really cool equipment, that's not to say UTA engineers have it bad bioengineering practically have our own NEW costly building, and I am loving the perks, honestly if you are studying engineering or nursing this is the school for you.

Nightlife: Its very tranquil, and not very much like its sister school UT-austin (party school), UTA is calm, and one hardly has parties, there are though stuff to do at nights like the movies they play, pretty cool hangout oh and they have concerts too.

Drug Safety: You literally are warned about drugs, before you even go, you should know better, drugs and what not are strictly forbidden.

5 College Student

Diversity: This is what UTA is known for DIVERSITY! it is absolutely awesome meeting people from different backgrounds, one learns alot, and it's really great.

College Student

Greek Life: I don't participate in greek life. I have heard its interesting though.

Transportation: There are more and more ways of transportation on campus, recently the max opened and it connects cities from fort worth to dallas and everything in between, including uta, also its I think $1 for UTA students either one or four don't remember.

College Student

Campus Housing: I am a commuter, like most of my fellow classmates, but from what I have heard it's great.

Weather: Sometimes it gets a bit cold or rainy especially during the winter, but there are ways to get to class without having to be outside too much, usually you can tell there will be bad weather if no one is walking outside of the library.

5 College Student

Athletics: Haven't been to any sporting events, but from what I have heard they are pretty good.

Greek Life: Greek life is not big or small at UTA. There are a bit of each type of sorority and fraternity any student is looking for. I'm not in a sorority but plan to rush soon. From what I've observed, the sororities look like they have a lot of fun and enjoy helping each other and the community. There are four PHC sororities but don't let that small number fool you. The girls are sweet and kind. On any ordinary day you'll see all the Greeks wearing their letters on campus. UTA has PHC IFC NPHC and MGC. The PHC and IFC are kind of the only ones that have houses and they're located on Greek Row which is near the MAC. If you're interested in going Greek I strongly advice you to go for it. Do your research first to make sure it's for you and then go for it.

Weather: This is Texas. If you're not from Texas then you may have a problem with the weather. I'm from Houston so I totally understand this crazy weather. One day it'll be hot and sunny and then the next day you'll have to pull out the boots. Texas weather is bipolar and that's the truth. It gets really cold during the end of the year and the beginning. We've received a heavy amount of sleet/snow and have had classes canceled. After awhile the weather evens out and becomes somewhat normal. My only advice is to have a weather app. I check mine every morning before I get dressed. You cant just look out the window and just guess what the weather will be like. You have to check your weather app. Also invest in some winter gear (jackets boots etc) you'll definitely need them around December.

Computers: If you live on campus, most dorms have computer labs in them but they don't have printers. If you need to print either bring your own or go to the library or the second floor of the UC to print. You'll have to put money on your MAV ID to print but it's only 4 cents a print which is way cheaper then buying your own printer. I put 20 dollars on my card for a semester and a half and I still haven't used it all. If you must have a printer in your room then that's fine but in my opinion using the school's printers are a good idea.

I think having a laptop or your own desktop is highly needed at UTA. You'll be using Blackboard a lot and its really inconvenient to run to the library every time you need to check your grades or do online homework assignment. Especially if its late at night and you forgot to do an assignment. The library does have computers (Apple Mac's and a few Dell desktops). On weekdays the library is usually full but if you go when people are usually in class you should find a few available. The computers in the UC are all desktops and are not that busy.

Local Atmosphere: Arlington is located between two bigger cities, Dallas and Ft Worth, so there's plenty to do in those two cities. Arlington is kind of boring though

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Not sure how to rate this one? I mean the alcohol and drugs are there if you want to partake, but no one is forcing anyone to

3 College Junior

Transportation: It's Arlington, TX so there's very little public transportation. Most people I know have cars. Traffic sucks bad though
