Campus Strictness: Just go to and from school so not a lot of say

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I started college at a very small private school. The Univ. of Tenn. is much better at deciding which parts need stricter laws for the social and academic lives of their students. I am so happy at UT, and I am happy I transferred.

Campus Strictness: Sad what they seem most worried about is parking.

5 College Student

Campus Strictness: It is the perfect amount of strictness. They let you do things like underage drinking as long as you aren't stupid about it.

Campus Strictness: UT is a dry campus, oh please!! Everyone knows that there is drinking going on here!! They are not very strict on that topic at all!! but when it comes to drugs its a different story.

There was a time when the UT Police were rather lax, but times have changed. Receiving the title "biggest party school" has been a blessing, as well as a curse, in that strictness has definitely increased. There are more police on campus, and they are more than willing to seek out those who are causing trouble. There is a certain level of liability connected with a campus of UT's size, and they are heavily pressured by administration to make UT a safer campus.

Most students will say that with a school of UT's size, it is impossible to totally regulate drinking. The campus police know that if they sought out and punished every crime that was committed, their lives would be those of endless headaches, paperwork, and sleepless nights. As long as UT does not enlist the help of Batman, Spiderman, and Superman to fight campus crime, parties and drinking will inevitably ensue. As long as you are smart about having a good time by knowing your limits, obeying and respecting the law, and staying quiet (a lot of big busts begin as noise violations) you will never come face-to-face with Johnny Law. Be aware of campus rules and policies about alcohol. They are rather strict, and knowledge of the rules might keep you out of trouble.
