Academics: Most professor are challenging and give a heavy work load. I would rather have intense classes so I am prepared for my career and grad school. I have had a few classes (mostly adjunct professors) that are an absolute joke.

Drug Safety: On average I do not see students partaking, however, I hear stories about underage drinking and drug abuse quite often. Some student also posted a youtube video on drinking that more than likely had underage students involved. The video looked very tacky and was embarrassing to the school.

Athletics: Unfortunately hardly anyone attends or supports the teams. Little to no team spirit.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: I am vegetarian and I have a hard time finding options.

2 College Senior

Scholarships: Have every document possible already filled out when going to speak to someone or else it may cause one to go back and forth several times.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus so I am basing my answers off peers. The amenities are terrible and the newer buildings were build very poorly. The amenities are very poor compared to most schools.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: Greek life was originally supposed to be a society that is very difficult to become a part of due to high standards to get accepted. Now anyone can be Greek and not enough money goes towards charitable donations for me to even consider joining. I would rather donate my time to other foundations.

3 College Senior

Transportation: I do not live on campus and I also own my own car. I cannot really speak on behalf of the students who must use public means of transportation.

3 College Senior

Nightlife: I am not a part of Greek life, nor do I party a lot. I hear about a lot of socials as well as house parties but never partake with my peers. If I go out, it is usually with a group of friends I have known for a while and not from students at UT. This is not because I am not social but mainly because I am older than most of the younger students who want to party a lot.

4 College Senior

Diversity: The school has a ton of international students as well as students from the US. Most US students come from the Northern East Coast region. I am one of a few who are originally from FL.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I personally have not had to use the school's help with finding housing, therefore, I am basing my answers off evaluations from peers.

3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Overall the school is average on strictness with standard policies and procedures. The school is abnormally strict with transferring credits from other schools which I deem unnecessary. The school should be focused on the education and not just the money. The tuition is very pricy to not accept valid transfer credits from other colleges.

Health & Safety: The campus reflects a standard atmosphere consistent with securities on patrol and a lot of open areas. These aspects allow a student to feel relatively safe considering the proximity to businesses and therefore loiterers.

Greek Life: i haven't been subject to interactions on this matter. There it's not practical for me to rate it.

3 College Student

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing seem to be subject to the individual preference. For me the inconvenience of distance from the campus and added responsibility of landlords is a distraction from studies. Also given the fact of the nearby businesses, housing off campus might be higher than average.

Academics: The controlled size of the campus, allows for efficient progress in each area noted. This is due to the fact that the small size allows each to be monitored carefully. The program is upscale, the workload practical, the curriculum great, the facilities above average and the internship/job opportunities great being that the school is located near many businesses.

Weather: The sunny, windy and somewhat tropical weather is the perfect atmosphere to be comfortable. This comfortable weather allows students to wear shorts and other clothing which contributes to a great environment for learning.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I am getting a good amount of academic-based scholarships, and my grant money was average

Of the many colleges and universities in Florida, the University of Tampa is one of the best places to study and enjoy college life. Not only is UT known for being a great place with high academic standards, but also the diversity and different cultures that are found here make the campus an enjoyable place to be. The amazing weather and location also help—thanks to the fact that Tampa is on the West coast of Florida. There is a wide variety of beaches within minutes of the campus. Also, the nightlife makes the University of Tampa a pretty attractive place for kids who are used to the city style of living.

The school spirit can be felt everywhere, and there is always something to do or an event to attend. Overall, the University of Tampa is a wonderful place to study and also to relax in between coursework. Once you're here, you'll feel like you're home.
