5 College Sophomore

Academics: the academic portion of the university is my favorite part and by far surpasses my expectations

4 College Sophomore

Academics: good variety of majors to choose from and professors are highly interested in students as individuals

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: the campus is overall very strict, which is helpful in creating a serious environment to work in

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life is non-existent on our campus.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is enough diversity that one can learn about other cultures and meet new types of people

2 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: campus housing is far too expensive for what it actually offers, and therefore I live off-campus.

2 College Sophomore

Transportation: Almost no transportation is offered except for the occasional shuttle to art classes held downtown

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: Facilities are average. There is always access to a tutor which is nice, and also there is always a good place to study on campus

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Overall, aside from the facilities and the campus environment being poor, the students and the people are very nice and easy to get along with. The students along with the teachers and anyone else on campus are very determined to get the job done whatever it may be and there seems to be a common interest in graduation as the main goal for the students. It is overall a a serious atmosphere, which fits me

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Not much to do when off campus. The local area around campus is not a good area. Campus dining is not good, and parking is horrible.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Campus security is always around, but for the area that the campus is centered in the security needs to be stronger especially at night.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Food is low quality and does not taste good, with the exception of a few items. I would prefer to eat off-campus

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Scholarship information is not easily obtainable, and the scholarships provided do not apply to a wide variety of people

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The school is very strict with some things. They do not allow underage drinking or drugs of any kind. This is a Catholic institution, so they do promote values and do not tolerate anything that does not uphold those values.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The financial aid office is helpful, but they are often slow and hard to get a hold of. I wish there were more scholarship opportunities and that they were more flexible.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: This is primarily a commuter school, so many people do live off campus. Finding housing can be a challenge though because we are in the middle of a residential community, so finding an apartment at a good price can be a challenge.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe. Security is always patrolling and willing to walk or drive you to your car. The area is not terrible and our security works closely with Joliet Police department.

4 College Junior

Computers: The school has multiple computer labs on campus. There is only one color printer but plenty of printers around campus and price is not that much. Network speed is pretty good and wireless access is good. I have never had issues with wireless access. USF is primarily a computer school and I don't think it's necessary to bring personal computer to school. There are plenty of options if you need one during the day.

Off-Campus Housing: USF is primarily a computer school. Near campus there are multiple options for renting houses or apartments. The cost is average and definitely cheaper than living on campus. The neighborhood is relatively safe but you may not always be walking distance to campus.

3 College Junior

Facilities: There are multiple lounges and computer labs for student use. The athletic center/school gym is okay but it is small. Students also get a free membership to the Joliet Park District's Athletic Center which is very nice. The dining options on campus are okay.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: They are always accessible to walk with students or even pick them up and walk them to their cars or dorm.

2 College Junior

Nightlife: The school tries to have various activities for the students on campus.

1 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are not may places close by and the few that are near are fast foods.

Transportation: There are classes in a downtown location and students are able to take the shuttle to class. Also, there are shuttles to Wal-Mart every Wednesday night, but I do wish there were shuttles to the off-campus workout facility as well as local sporting events.

Local Atmosphere: I love the friendly feel as you walk through campus. Everyone on campus is so nice and willing to help out. Not to mention, we just got a new President, and he is really turning things around!
