4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I think it is more me than the school. I'm good with the level of safety.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: It's okay I guess. I don't live on campus so I don't really know if there are any problems to comment on.

4 College Junior

Computers: The computers are great but it would be nicer to have them in study rooms so that we wouldn't always have to carry our own.

4 College Junior

Academics: I love my program chair and most of my instructors. They are very helpful with anything and really do care about us learning and continuing our education.

2 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: They do not really assist married couples with housing. Not all students are 25 or younger. Older students need housing assistance also.

Local Atmosphere: Personally, Evansville is not a fit for me. USI is a couple miles outside of town so you always have to drive to get off campus. The city is more of a really commercial center then a city. I don't know a lot to do in Evansville besides eat and go shopping. The city is largely culture-less.

Campus Housing: I don't know a lot about the apartments, but I do know that they are a lot farther away from campus, and in the winter many people choose to use the bus system.

The on campus dorms are really nice, and only for freshman. They are very new, (but I believe Newan is youngest,) so they are in suite set up. Also, I have a bathroom in my room, which is really nice.

The dorms are also very very close to campus, it's maybe a five minute walk to my first class.

Would highly recommend dorms for freshman

Campus Strictness: I hear a lot about alcohol use in the dorms, but not as much about people getting caught. You will only get caught if you get a noise complaint, or someone else tells on you. If you get caught with alcohol on a first or second offense, public safety wont even call the police and you simply have to write a paper, or take a substance abuse class.

One thing they are really strict on is parking. Always park in your designated area.

Greek Life: A whole lot of people I know are in greek life. It's our only major involvement on campus. Most greek life lives in special apartments on campus, but I do know that TKE is off campus, and a very run down chapter house.

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus, but the only close off campus housing I know of it Eagle Village, and if any other they are a couple miles away from campus.

Diversity: I do see a lot of international students at USI. But for the most part, it is a lot of white, conservative, and christian, people. There is a lot of diversity in economic status though, since it is a cheap school, and also a convenient school for people in the tri state area. A lot of different people come here for those reasons.

Drug Safety: A lot of students are commuters here, but withing residence life I would say that access to drugs and alcohol is fairly abundant. You hear a lot about it if you live in a residence hall.

Computers: You don't really need a computer if you live in the residence halls because there is a small computer lab on each wing and floor. There are also a lot of computer you can use in the library, with printing. The internet has never posed a problem for me, but printing is ten cents a page here, for black and white. Which I think is really ridiculous, and I spend A LOT of money on printing.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: I live close enough to campus where I don't use the buses, but I am pretty sure they are free and you can take the buses out into town. (I don't know if anyone does that, though.)

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: The dining options are okay at my school. There is a pretty good variety to choose from, although at times the food has been served cold.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The off-campus dining is okay. It's better than other places I've been to. There's a nice variety and since they're close to the university, students get discounts almost everywhere.

College Freshman

Nightlife: Too young for any night life activities.

3 College Freshman

Computers: Everything is okay except for the school network goes down for maintance reasons.

College Sophomore

Athletics: i didn't attend any events but was aware of popularity

Academics: Great opportunities for projects, internships, etc.

College Sophomore

Nightlife: lived off campus and didn't party on campus

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Expensive semester rate with limited nighttime lighting

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Cannot comment, I used my own PC

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: No armed security on campus.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There is a variety of dining options from fast food to dining in places. The prices seem to be pretty average along with the food choices.
