Parking: The Parking for school is bad. However parking in Los Angeles is the same way. Parking permits are over $300 for a semester, and parking on the row is limited.

Nightlife: The Row and the 9-0 – The Row is a huge part of the School. Even if people are not apart of the Greek system, they still attend the parties. The Greek Life at school is one of the best parts of school life. The 9-0 is the a bar open for the public, but it is mostly for the students. The drinks are expensive, but it is nice to have a bar to go to within walking distance.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The Guys and Girls Are Tan and Hot – Both Girls and Guys at school are typical Orange County/Beach City people. The Guys are tan and good looking. The Girls are beautiful and skinny.

Weather: Hmmm One Work: GORGEOUS – Gorgeous weather all year around. A+++
Unless you dont like warm weather.

Campus Strictness: It Really Depends – When I went to visit the dorms I saw people partying in their halls. You always want to be careful though and not be stupid.

Local Atmosphere: LA Is Well.... AMAZING – LA is well... AMAZING !!!! There are lots of things to do as long as you know what you like. You can go to the beach, go shopping, go to the flea market, go to concerts and anything else you can imagine. The only thing is how much it all costs because trust me it's EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!! USC is about 15-20 min. cab ride from the airport and it costs about $55. Otherwise though LA is the place to be:)

Academics: Fight on – USC Viterbi school is one of the best engineering schools in the country, but it's also part of a big vibrant university with students from every discipline.

Health & Safety: Even though campus is not in the best area, it is completley safe. The university has 2 sepcial police forces that patrol a 5 block radius, and a campus cruiser program that offers rides so students don't have to walk alone at night or get into cars with inebriated drivers.

Facilities: The USC campus is beautiful: manicured, friendly, and colorful. The libraries are well-stocked, the gym is clean and spacious, and the general feeling on campus is warm and inviting.

Greek Life: You Don't Need to Be Greek to Have Fun – The Greeks are such a big part of USC --- and they are lame, stupid and predictable. You go to one frat party and you've seen them all. Sorority girls are mean and about 99% believe they are more attractive than they really are. You absolutely DO NOT need to join the Greeks to have fun. The non-Greeks are way nicer than the Greeks anyway.

Diversity: Better Than Average – The diversity is great. I had friends from pretty much everywhere in the country and even from around the world. But --- oh my god, there's a lot of international grad students who can barely speak a word on English, and chances are, they'll be your science TA. I question USC's TOEFL admission standards.

Off-Campus Housing: Shady Landlords, Too High for the Ghetto – Studios run about $600-$800, one bedrooms run about $800-1500, two bedrooms run about $1800+. I shared a room my junior year and the cost of our TINY bedroom was $1200/mo; it was part of an apartment with another bedroom, and that girl paid $1200/mo for a grand total of $2400/mo for a place with roaches, a landlady who couldn't speak English and the crapiest internet ever. I live a mile away from campus now and still pay $850/mo for my own room, but know that rooms in desired areas will run quite pricey. West of campus is cheaper, but that area is beyond unsafe.

Transportation: Los Angeles is renown for its terrible public transportation system. I've occasionally taken the local buses to a movie theater in Beverly Hills, but it's difficult to count on them to get you to your destination in a reasonable amount of time.

That said, most of the students that you meet have access to cars. Should you find a friend with a car, you'll be all set.

The school does offer free transportation to the local LA Live facility that has a movie theater, restaurants, and the Nokia concert venue. Before certain major breaks they also offer free shuttles to LAX.

4 College Senior

Facilities: Best of Everything – USC is very lenient and you can basically create any program you want.

College Senior

Drug Safety: College is college, and USC is in LA of course you're going to find drugs but the kids are smart and at least their not out in the open about it.

4 College Senior

Nightlife: There are always greek parties to go to, a concert at ground zero, some campus music group performing or a play to go to. And if you get bored of campus you can take the bus or rent a zip care and go into the heart of LA to have some fun.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Were Mostly Hispanic – most of the student at HPCRAHS are hispanic. so we all have an easy way to communicate mainly because we all speak spanish & english

5 College Student

Computers: The computers are excellent. Technology is a big part of the campus.

5 College Junior

Weather: Weather is awesome and makes going to class worthwhile.

College Junior

Parking: Considering I don't have a parking permit, I can't describe the parking situation.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: It is a big school. Also I like the football stadium. Another good thing about USC is that they have a wiining football team that was coached by Pete Caroll. Now Pete Caroll is going to coach the Seattle Seahawks from the NFL. I hope he does good. I hope no one from USC wants to hurt me or anything becuase of the fact that the Seattle Seahawks are my favorite team.

3 College Student

Campus Strictness: It's Alright – Just as with any institution, there are rules. The strictness at USC is manageable and not detrimental to the uprising and development of its students.

5 College Student

Off-Campus Housing: Very Socially Accepting and Diverse – The atmosphere at USC is one that is unique and unmatched. The food and housing areas are located in convenient quarters to allow students to quickly and easily replenish and refuel.

5 College Student

Academics: Roski School of Fine Art – The Roski School of Fine Art has a state of the art facility that caters to the needs of aspiring artists and designers. The class rooms and studios act as playgrounds- allowing the minds of the students to go wild and express themselves.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: Love It – Great School. Great people. Great city. There's not much to say but if you like the big city scene you will love it here. Great academics and programs.

Students from Southern California usually love USC from the beginning and strengthen their bonds with the school as time passes. Students who travel to USC from longer distances tend to adapt more slowly, dealing at first with the culture shock that inevitably comes with a first impression of LA. Universally, those who can survive the transition into the USC way of life fall in love with the school after first semester. Typically, students entering school with a skeptical mind-set ends up getting the most pride out of being a Trojan. At the very least, they come away with a new affinity toward college football.

The opportunities on campus are plentiful, and in LA, opportunities are endless. Time flies for everyone at USC, and changes in living conditions, academic standards, and career goals come quicker than newcomers might expect. USC graduates are sure to look back on a college experience that could not have been offered anywhere else. Basically, the more that students are willing to explore the opportunities available to them, the more they endorse the idea that USC is the perfect school for its time and place.
