College Freshman

Nightlife: Dont involve myself in partying

3 College Junior

Nightlife: There are parties here and there. Many people are active at night but usually it's because they are studying at the library.

College Freshman

Nightlife: Although I am an enrolled student i have yet to participate in campus life

College Sophomore

Nightlife: I do not go out and so I do not know how the nightlife is

3 College Junior

Nightlife: Typically I have gone out on either SoHo or in Ybor. Personally, I like to dance more than anything so I prefer the nightlife in Ybor over SoHo. I find both places to be extremely expensive though as you always end up paying cover charges (more so in Ybor), drink prices, and parking fees. Also, both places are far from campus so it can become tiresome to drive almost 25 minutes just to go out on the town.

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Tampa has countless venues that anyone can enjoy, regardless of what scene they’re into. Trendy students will enjoy the Hyde Park Café, and for everyone else, there’s New World Brewery. College students love Ybor City—a strip district of nightclubs, bars, and restaurants—that is about 15 minutes away from campus. Newcomers to the area are mesmerized by the lights, the sounds, and the people that walk the strip at night. Most of the clubs are open to people 18 years of age or older, but a good fake ID can get students into just about any club off Seventh Avenue.

Ybor is the big hot spot for dance halls and can be a fun night on the town. Unfortunately, it's not right next to campus, just a couple of exits down on the interstate, and it can get really rowdy in certain clubs. Most of the drinking scene is held in little hole-in-the-wall bars or house parties.
