4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are many great restaurant areas close to campus. The most popular and most accessible locations are either in The Vista or Five Points. Great food at a good price whenever one gets tired of the meal plan.

Drug Safety: There is a lot of both alcohol & drugs on campus, however, I'm guessing it's all the same in schools all around. It's also fairly easy to stay uninvolved in these types of actions. The drug and alcohol policy at USC is also well enforced.

4 College Senior

Computers: The computers are up-to-date, just needs to improve on network availability

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Great variety and very close to campus

5 College Senior

Academics: The academics here is some of the best in the state when it comes to applying knowledge

Diversity: The USC campus is the best because the people who is very social and accepting of all race, color, and orientation. Even when there is rare ignorance that may occur, we do pull together to make sure things like that never happens again on campus from students to leaders.

Health & Safety: Our PD for the university is spot on! You don't see them everywhere you go, but they have an emergency number to call that they post/give out to students and are all fairly friendly! I've worked with them for commencement ceremonies and such, so I have connections if I need them too, haha.

College Sophomore

Majors: I have yet to do an internship for my major.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: The J School at USC is awesome and the whole staff really seems to care about the students and wanting them to learn while getting their money's worth!

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The football games are huge and a ton of fun.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: If you're smart about it, you'll be fine.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Library's great, academics are challenging but doable. It all depends on your major though.

4 College Freshman

Weather: When you're reading tweets about how people wish it was still summer, meanwhile you're lounging by the pool at the strom, you'll understand.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: USC offers a ton of scholarships and aid, but the financial aid office will definitely leave you on hold for hours on end.

4 College Freshman

If there is one word to describe the experiences you will have at USC, it would have to be "unforgettable." Being away from home for the first time at USC is both exciting and scary at times, but the freedom you get when you come here feels natural. It makes you wonder why they don’t send people to college sooner! Academically, there are courses and professors who can make you look at things in ways you never considered before. Facts and figures will be thrown at you, but some of the professors (and your peers) can teach you a lot about life as well. It’s also a very cool thing to see laid-back professors who will sometimes move their classes out onto the Horseshoe lawn.

On top of this, with such a large student population, you will inevitably form new relationships that will last a lifetime. As at any college, the quality of the experience depends on what you put into it. There are thousands of new people to meet, tons of activities going on, and things to learn both in and out of class. Those who don’t take advantage of these opportunities will not get a lot out of their experience here. Some students get tired of being at USC after a while, and some hate it from the start for whatever reason. USC is not the place for everyone, but overall, students seem to be thoroughly enamored with Carolina and wouldn’t trade their title of Gamecocks for anything in the world. There seems to be an aura of its own inherent to the University, and its welcoming vibe is infectious.
