Campus Housing: The housing on campus is relatively a smooth process. the housing authorities will usually work with you in finding someone and somewhere that is most convenient to you.

4 College Senior

Majors: I have experienced hardly any issues getting into the program I wished to be a part. The only important detail is communication. It is always best to go talk in person to someone if you want the best experience or wish to gain information with out confusion.

4 College Senior

Majors: It is great to be in the program I have chosen due to its close knit program and relationships. The program offers great internship opportunities, curriculum. If you complete in the program you are always promised a job due to the persistence and influence of faculty in the community.

Off-Campus Dining: The off campus options are average the typical McDonald, Taco Bell etc...A lot of the off campus dining offers student discounts if you ask. However there is not much variety and beyond two or three places that offer an experience worth having.

Diversity: Diversity on campus is relatively average. The campus receives a lot of international students. As far as the political and religious beliefs go Upstate students are very accepting of every body but there is not much conversation or discussion on the topics.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: The people on campus are relatively normal and lead a lifestyle of any typical college student. they are mostly your typical 18 to 30 year old person with a handful of radical lifestyle and appearance. Upstate is a laid back average campus.

3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Campus strictness is average in school policies and social situations. Campus police rarely have to deal with situations beyond parking violations and rare social situations

Greek Life: Greek life is present at University of South Carolina-Upstate, however it is not a huge part of campus life. Greeks and non-Greeks have a relationship and there is usually no animosity toward each other.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: Safety and security on campus are important they have emergency phone boxes set up where people can access them if they have a need.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: I transferred to University of South Carolina with the Life Scholarship. I received the scholarship for four years if you keep a 3.0 GPA average and meet requirements you also should receive financial aid assistance

Athletics: University of South Carolina-Upstate has fifteen teams that are men and women teams. Men's basket ball games has overall very good fan support and excellent team performance they keep up the school spirit.

College Sophomore

Scholarships: No one will hand you free money anywhere you go. DO THE FAFSA.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: From what I've seen it's pretty diverse there are people from different countries, races, social statuses. Everyone gets along pretty well!

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: Located next to a decent size city and down the road from Greenville!

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Everyone is pretty laid back. Get out and get to know people!

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sporting events are free for students and the facilities are SUPER nice

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: I've never had felt unsafe on campus. As far as rules go I do not live on campus and I follow the basic rules when on campus.

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I am in a sorority. I was super nervous to join but I'm really glad I did. The ladies are in no way stuck up. From the outside looking in I might have thought different but I'm so glad I joined. I know people around campus almost everywhere I go. I'm not some preppy girl just a regular transfer student who really needed to get to know people. I really encourage rushing if you are remotely interested. It has been nothing but a positive experience!

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Even though the buildings are older they are still clean and functional.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: There are a million ways to get involved on campus. Seriously don't be shy, get to know people and go to events. You're paying for the college experience might as well get your moneys worth and maybe get some food and shirt while you're at it.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Food has been decent when I've actually eaten in the caf. Otherwise Jazzman's is pretty much my favorite place to spend money.

4 Recent Alumnus

Guys & Girls: There's a great mix of people if you put yourself out there to meet them.

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: It has enough to offer for the size of the community.

3 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: It's not as diverse as larger schools or schools in larger geographic areas may be.

4 Recent Alumnus

Academics: I really like being in a small school setting. The teachers get to know us as individuals making them more able to help us in ways that we need.
