3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: I have no problems with the campus strictness.

5 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Campus Strictness is for the safety of the students.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Richmond has a very safe campus. It is in the suburbs and kind of isolated, and therefore most people on campus are affiliated with the university. The campus isn't all that strict when it comes to underage drinking. However, they are very serious about drug use and violations of the honor code. Furthermore, the parking services are very strict and will give out tickets if you park where you're not supposed to.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: It's hard to get in trouble at Richmond, unless you truly deserve to get into trouble. For the most part, campus and the campus security are very lenient.

You won't get away with anything at UR. With a real police force in addition to security officers, every part of campus is closely watched. The police take their jobs seriously and do a great job of keeping the campus safe. They conduct sobriety checkpoints to catch drunk drivers and will stop and question any person who looks like they might have had too much to drink. If you get caught by them, you don't just get a citation-you go to Richmond City Jail. It's not cool.

RAs can also write a student up for violating the rules. After four write-ups, you will most likely be placed on housing probation and any further infractions will get you kicked off campus. Campus police and RAs do not necessarily walk around looking to write students up for illegal activity. As long as you don't call attention to yourself, you can party on campus without having to worry about getting in trouble. They are present to make sure that everybody is safe, so be smart about it and you will enjoy yourself.
