Computers: Computers are available but networks are weak.

5 College Sophomore

Computers: The wifi is overall really good, I baarely experience any troubles. The libraries and computer labs are filled with computers so it is unlikely you wont find somewhere to log on and get homework done. They also give us the option of renting out laptops which is very convenient for people who like to go to more secluded areas where there are not computers available.

3 College Freshman

Computers: There are computes and printers in the library. You have too pay i think 5 cents per paper to print.

3 College Freshman

Computers: printing costs a lot. wifi also is difficult to get.

3 College Freshman

Computers: There are computers available for everyone. However, the wireless network availability is terrible.

Computers are an essential part of college life, and the vast majority of students have their own, many of which come from Ram Computers, the computer store in the Memorial Union. There are also computers and labs all over campus that are almost always in use. Students using computers on campus may be doing anything from writing a paper to checking a fantasy sports team. Many students here use the campus computer labs just to browse the Internet and kill time between classes. However, students being productive can also be found in the computer lab e-mailing a professor or finishing up an assignment.

Some students carry laptops around campus with them wherever they go. Many students will be seen on their laptops upstairs in the library or any academic building. It is not essential to bring a laptop to class with you, but some people like to do all of their work on their own computer. Plus, the University often interacts with students via the Internet. Students receive URI newsletters through e-mail, manage their courses on e-campus, and even do some coursework online, as well.
