3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: It gets incredibly repetitive and eating healthy is near impossible.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: We have a lot of fresh ingredients, especially at the salad bar. The different cuisine options are pretty good including Latin, Asian, and a Deli.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: The food is actually pretty good and there are various stations at which students can eat - pasta, mexican, asian, the grill, the sandwich station, "home-cooked", and vegan/vegetarian.

The main cafeteria is located in the Wheelock Student Center. A variety of foods are offered, including Italian, Mexican, Asian, vegetarian, a grill, a sandwich station, a salad station, and an assortment of cereals. A new addition is the kosher section. Everyone looks forward to garden tortellini on Fridays, and the chocolate chip or apple cinnamon waffles on Saturday. Like any cafeteria, you will get sick of the food after a while, but that is when creativity comes into play. It is relatively easy to eat healthy, unless you are tempted by the aroma of fries, but otherwise there many healthy choices.

At Puget Sound, we use dining dollars to purchase meals. There are different meal plans available ranging from "mega" to "off-campus" depending on the amount of meals you plan to eat every day. You can use your ID card to buy food at any of the on-campus restaurants. Each food item is worth a certain amount of dining dollars that is less than the price for those using cash. Say you want to buy a bag of carrots. They will cost .23 dining dollars or 40 cents cash. If you live on campus, you are required to purchase a meal plan. Unlike some other schools that offer meal times, students can buy food or drinks whenever they wish.
