3 College Junior

Weather: Mayaguez, after 2:00 p.m . Be sure to have an umbrella

2 College Junior

Parking: There are too many students for just the few parking there are. Then if there are no police anybody even without permit may park and limit more the spaces available to park. I hate it!

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: There are always people that do it. For me its ok since they don't do anything bad for me just for themselves

5 College Junior

Nightlife: You have many options. Night clubs, readings, school games, movies, bowling, in fact anything you like.

2 College Junior

Campus Dining: Average. Menus are repetitive, but prices are good.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: They have lots of variety, but it's the same some days. We normally get bored sometimes. Although, they have a creamery which is awesome, lots of cakes, ice creams etc.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: We have a street called "Calle Bosque" where we go and hang out. Since we can drink legally from age 18 and up, the have good prices on the alcohol. Other wise, we have clubs, cinemas, restaurants etc.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Our team spirit is awesome! We are big on our soccer and basketball team and we love to cheer in the home games.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: They are strict, but at the same time they want the students to express themselves. Even though this university is big on Engineering, we are big in the arts department too. The police around the campus are friendly and they are always willing to help you with what you need.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Mayaguez Campus is one of most active university in engineering projects. Professors are open to new ideas and projects and students can participate as well. It also count with a variety of classes that help you to develop yourself not only in your concentration but also in other areas you may be interested like cine, music, art... Another awesome thing is that Mayaguez Campus has a relaxing atmosphere that make able to concentrate and study for your classes. It also count with a scholarship system that make possible the freedom of study for the student since he has not to be worry about get money for his education.

4 College Senior

Majors: there are a variety of mayors. My campus is perfect on that

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: Health is perfect but safety not very good. There's criminality and robbery

4 College Senior

Diversity: The University of Puerto Rico al Mayaguez Is the best university of Puerto Rico. It has a lot of diversity

4 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: Most of students are on a sorority or frat, you can see them wearing shirts at all times.

4 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: The library is a very good spot to study, it has plenty room and individual desks as much as tables for groups.

5 Recent Alumnus

Nightlife: The nightlife is awesome, there is a street called Post, where is full of bars where they serve cheap drinks and beers. Is perfecr for a student budget.

4 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: I really love the opportunities of entertainment off campus, you can find a nice coffee shop, or a spot to have some drinks, there's also places to go to dance.

5 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: Awesome! It has plenty places where you can eat at different prices. The variety is another plus, near the campus are mexican restaurants, sandwiches, puertorrican, sushi and more.

3 Recent Alumnus

Weather: It's very hot during May, August and September. It also rains almost every afternoon. Just always keep an umbrella on your backpack and you'll be good to go.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Dining: You can find a variety of places to try and find places with good quality at affordable prices.

2 Recent Alumnus

Transportation: You can never predict when will the bus arrive at the designated bus stop. They are only good from the external parking lot where they pick up students. I've waited hours for a bus, making the transportation completely futile. Walking is the easiest option to move inside the campus if you do not own a car.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: All students who are applicable receive the Pell Scholarship, which luckily covers tuition. Puerto Rico is a poor island and we are lucky to receive this scholarship.

4 Recent Alumnus

Nightlife: UPR Mayag├╝ez Campus offers an active nightlife due to the fact that students from all over Puerto Rico reside around the campus and stay awake due to tests or other activities.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Public transportation is very good. There are buses that transport students from the parking to the campus and they work all day.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: My campus doesn't have dorms but they are very strict about grades. If you get an 2.00 or less GPA you get immediate suspension or go on probationary period and if you don't improve your grades you get kicked out.
