5 College Senior

Online Courses: I attend on campus classes but will move to strictly online course next year. From what I hear from students it is not a large shift from the classroom experience.

Academic Flexibility: UOP accepted more than I expected from the community college I attended. This was absolutely great.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Obtaining higher education is not an expensive undertaking, I am unable to apply for financial aid because I co-signed a student loan for some and they defaulted on the loan, so for me to finish school I have to pay out of the pocket which has creating an financial burden.

5 College Senior

Academic Experience: The instructors bring a real life experience into the classroom where students can relate and gain knowledge to use in the workplace. Academic experience is provide confidence in the fact I am finally achieving my educational goals.

Academic Experience: The work load can be challenging, but this is where personal responsibilty becomes important. Learning to schedules study time has allowed me manage my workflow in the workplace more efficiently.

4 College Senior

Facilities: The school offers programs for working adults to obtain a college degree.

Overall Experience: My experience at UOP has opened an entire new world for me in terms of learning and achieve my dream to obtain a bachelors degree. I am 54 years old and have put two daughters through college Louisiana State University and Univeristy of Tennessee and now it my turn. I work and have become a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. My experience reflects a dream come true.

Student Body: The student body at UOP is very professional and courtesies.

Campus Resources: The campus provide study rooms and computer lab center which is an excellent benefit.

Facilities: I really like University of Phoenix. I am a single, working mother, and one class at a time has been a blessing for me. However, the learning team assignments have caused me so much grief that I have strongly considered transferring schools.

Student Body: University of Phoenix is very diverse because it is available to all people. I have had classes with different types of people, and they have all been nice to one another.

2 College Freshman

Campus Resources: University of Phoenix is an online school. External resources do not exist.

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The computer network at school is great. I have not experienced a problem doing anything that involves computer with UOPX.

Online Courses: I definitely appreciate the online experience thus far. The teacher to student relationship is great. The instructors are very interactive. The peer to peer relationships are good during discussions but not during team assignments. The workload seems to take up more of my time than going to school on campus, which I do not like at all. The registration process was easy, and I do not notice any new features than before.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: My financial adviser has explained everything thoroughly and is willing to answer my questions. I am happy with everything in this department.

3 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: I have no experienced any difficulties with the flexibility of my classes or curriculum. The hassle are the learning team assignments. I have experienced much stress and great displeasure in dealing with learning teams. However, I appreciate learning teams for the real world experience that I gain. Learning teams have given me confidence that I will one day possess the skills to manage a group of lazy, uninterested people. Transferring credits seemed to be a breeze.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: As of right now, I am still taking my general education classes. I do not possess any real knowledge of my major, however, thus far at Phoenix, I have learned a whole lot. The teachers are great, the workload is manageable for single parents and people working full time jobs. The great part about Phoenix is the opportunity to work at your own pace throughout the week. Although we have to work in teams, which I do not particularly like, the assignments force you into reality situations people experience in the work place. I do not yet possess any knowledge of internships or job opportunities. The facility is great and well organized.

Academic Experience: The professors at University of Phoenix are very understanding and down to earth. They do well to provide real world experience. Again, the workload is manageable.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid has been really helpful for me, because I can not afford to pay for school right now; however, I have had multiple issues recently with receiving my funds on time. For example, I was supposed to receive my financial disbursement by May of this year and did not receive the funds until September, which was a huge problem considering I needed to purchase some very necessary items for school. I do not really agree that the tuition should be so high at this school, especially since students can lose points on their assignments from another team member not doing their own portions correctly. Those students are not paying all of this money for me to go to school here, so why should their work or lack thereof affect my grade?

5 College Junior

Student Body: A typical student at my school works full-time, has children, and married. The school is diverse that are many ethnic groups that attend. Political views, and religious views are different, but that's what makes coming together fun because we learn different things about each other. Whenever I learn of an issue that one of my class mates my have I try and help them solve their problem and not judge. We all understand that things happen in life, moving forward is the best solution to ensure things still get done.

Overall Experience: My school is unique because I am a mother of 3 and a wife, but I am able to attend school because my school offers classes one night a week, one class at a time. If my school did not offer this program I would not have the time to continue my education. My experience has been excellent, I have advisers that guide me along the way to ensure that I complete the program. If I could do it all over again I would still choose University of Phoenix. I would choose it because it gave more confidence that I can complete my degree, and through all the stress in my life this program motivated me to continue to do my best. It also gave me the motivation to continue my education to get my Masters Degree, before I came to this school that was not a goal for me. I really appreciate how the University of Phoenix help me complete my goals in life.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Most of the instructors at UoP are wonderful. I've only come across one that I wasn't entirely impressed with. They seem to care that you really learn and understand the material.

The curriculum aligns very well with the courses. The material has been relevant.

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The programs that my school has is great for those returning to school after a good deal of time. There are programs to check for grammar errors, online math tutorials, blogs, online library, and links to assist with classes and student loans.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I do not believe that learning teams are a productive learning tool for many of the classes offered. This extends mostly to the general education classes. This practice, in my experience, has only grouped people together who most are not involved in school leaving one or two people doing most of the work. Outside of this, classes have been educational and the teachers seem to geniunely care about teaching and helping the students.
