2 College Sophomore

Parking: There is not enough parking for the amount of students that go here, and there is too much faculty parking and ticketing is outrageous and very strict.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking sucks. There are never enough spaces (unless you get there extremely early) and the permits cost $200, which is totally ridiculous in my opinion.

3 College Student

Parking: Parking situation is okay a OU I understand because its a big university and its hard to find a parking spot when all of them are taken up.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: I bus to campus instead of driving because parking passes are so expensive and good spots are very hard to find. Sometimes the parking signage is a little unclear and I'm worried that I'll get a ticket even late at night or far from campus.

Parking on campus is a nightmare, especially for upperclassmen that do not live in the dorms. Due to the recent jump in enrollment during the last decade, parking has become very scarce on campus. This is made worse by the fact that parking permits cost nearly $200 a year. No one wants to add the cost of additional parking violations to such a hefty price, and yet it is very common that the only parking spaces available during the day require special permits. Visitors and first time offenders can often appeal their tickets, but students facing multiple tickets are out of luck. For those who live on campus, there is always the danger that, by parking their cars for several days in one place, they may not know when they have been ticketed, and campus police do not hesitate to add more tickets each day a vehicle remains in illegal parking.

Getting a Parking Permit
Parking permits run around $195. Many upperclassmen attempt to avoid purchasing a permit but end up accumulating many tickets throughout the year for not having one. If you're going to park on campus often, it's best to just buy a permit.
