2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: This is a problem I have had, personally. I'm from Los Angeles and Dallas with a lot of family in Caracas and Madrid so big cities are home for me. The lack of culture and diversity of places to eat is disappointing. Definitely a draw back of "college towns".

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: We have campus corner right off of campus that has a good amount of options. If you want to drive you can head to Main Street and find even more cute restaurants there.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: If you are willing to travel a bit, the off campus dining is great around the OU campus area.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: It's a college town, there's college food. But it's just the same thing over and over. Oklahoma City has some variety if you're willing to drive down there.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Coming from a small town, it seems Norman has every chain restaurant one could name. The college classics such as IHOP, Chipolte, and Whataburger are popular spots, but there are a good amount of unique restaurants on Campus Corner and Main Street. The Mont, Fuzzy's, and O'Connell's are a few of the more popular places to eat near campus.

Campus Corner, located on the north side of Boyd Street (the northern-most boundary of main campus), is the most popular off-campus dining area. Featuring bars, grills, cafés, organic food, and Thai, these restaurants are easy, fast, and mostly affordable. Campus Corner also features specialty shops and University-affiliated offices, adding to its appeal for students. Parking is an absolute nightmare, however, so be prepared to walk to your final destination if you choose to dine on Campus Corner. Norman is predominantly a college-town and a suburb of Oklahoma City, which means that many popular chains have opened shop here to cater to every dining necessity. Within a four mile radius of campus, there are Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean, organic, and Smokehouse options. For students in need of a nicer restaurant, Oklahoma City’s Bricktown is only a 30-minute drive, though these restaurants are considerably more expensive than the average fare around campus.
