4 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: It's a great school centered around football, basketball, and softball primarily (in my opinion). The varsity games were the big social events that most students would go to on the weekends. I would, however, utilize the opportunity to study in the vacated libraries.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: It was relatively easy to call or walk into the financial aid office at any time during the school day.The staff was very helpful and attentive with any questions or concerns I had.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: The campus police department does a great job of keeping campus safe for everyone.

3 College Junior

Academics: It can be difficult at times to be a female engineering major, but I get through it and the guys are all really nice and helpful.

4 College Junior

Academics: Being in engineering it's kind of expected to have difficult classes, so with that being said, I don't believe the workload is too much and the professors do a great job of making it easier to understand.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I live in a house about 2 miles off campus and I love it. I have friends living in apartments and cottages and they seem to like it just as much. The apartment complexes are fairly nice and not too expensive.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: There isn't much to do in Norman, however, Oklahoma City isn't too far away and it has everything you need including the OKC Thunder!

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: The caf is kind of expensive if you don't have a meal plan, but it has a wide variety of food and once you're in, it's all you can eat!

5 College Junior

Athletics: The OU football team brings everyone together. Going to the games in the fall is the best part of being in college.

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: All of the people I have come in contact with throughout my career thus far have been very nice exciting people.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There are copious amounts people from different cultures and religions on campus.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: Parties are great at the fraternity houses if you go to the right ones. I'm not currently 21 so my bar options are limited, but I have been to a few good ones near campus.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of places to eat off campus on campus corner.

1 College Junior

Scholarships: I only received a small amount of financial aid from my fafsa, and I cannot find any scholarships or any other type of financial aid to help me out. My total costs are calculated along with estimated amount of need, however my need is never fully covered by financial aid.

3 College Senior

Majors: I enjoy being in the Department of Psychology. The brain/how the mind works has always been something that I was interested in.

Facilities: OU spends a ton of money on campus aesthetics, and you can tell. It's a beautiful campus.

3 College Senior

Diversity: OU preaches diversity, but it's not really all that diverse.

4 College Senior

Campus Dining: I think OU has one of the best college Housing and Food departments; there are plenty of options available for people of varying dietary needs.

Greek Life: Greek life is pretty big here; there's a huge rush about 2 weeks before the semester starts.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: It's a college town, so prices are jacked up for not-so-great apartments. Landlords aren't the best, and Norman laws are geared to protect them, not the tenants.

4 College Senior

Athletics: OU is a huge football school, and it permeates everything on campus.

College Senior

Majors: I have not had an internship; they aren't that forthcoming for undergrads.

3 College Senior

Majors: It wasn't hard; I just declared my major and that was it.

3 College Senior

Academics: There's nothing particularly special about being a Psych major at my school. Our department isn't nationally-revered or anything, just your run of the mill department.

3 College Senior

Academics: The professors are really cool (well, most of them are), but you don't get the sense that they really care about you as an individual (as a whole). Most are concerned with their research or becoming tenured.

OU is an excellent choice for students who are undecided on their majors because it truly offers a wide variety of fantastic programs in every field of study, allowing students time to explore different classes and change their minds. The campus environment is great, too. There really is a place for everyone, no matter how strange your interests may be, and what really counts is the fact that the people that run the random clubs and organizations on campus want you to be involved, to have a good time, and to grow as a person. College is about experimenting and learning about oneself. OU provides its students with the means to do so in a safe situation. The majority of students are very satisfied with their time spent at OU. They feel that the small town of Norman offers a true college experience, along with the ability to give back to the community. Most feel that people in Norman are genuinely friendly and, for the most part, down to earth. The academics at OU are strong, and, generally speaking, the professors are understanding and qualified. Although there are some aspects that could use improvement, like parking, OU offers many great perks that make up for the minor inconveniences. OU has a strong athletic tradition, and the facilities available to students and athletes alike are top-of-the-line. There are numerous things to do, depending on what or with whom you care to do them with. Ultimately, what makes OU such a great place was different for every student, which only proves that OU truly does have something for everybody.
