4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Everyone is extremely friendly and happy to be in Norman. It's not really a place I would want to live after graduation but it is a great college town.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I personally did not receive any scholarships and I had a 3.8 gpa in high school, but my dad talked to people in financial aid and helped me get more financial assistance that came in scholarships. I believe this incoming class should be getting more though.

3 College Freshman

Academics: I definitely wouldn't say that OU has the best academics. As long as you study and go to class you should receive an A's. Most students use this opportunity to spend time getting involved and volunteering since classes aren't so rigorous.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: OU is great at a variety of sports but of course football is the what everyone cares about most. What is nice is that you don't have to struggle to come by tickets for any of the events.

5 College Freshman

Greek Life: There really is a place for everyone who wants to be in a sorority at OU. You can find really cool girls in all different houses but you typically find that sororities stick together.

Off-Campus Dining: We have campus corner right off of campus that has a good amount of options. If you want to drive you can head to Main Street and find even more cute restaurants there.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I pretty much always feel safe on campus. There have been a few girls who have believed they have been given the date rape drug at frat houses, but whether anyone has or not I am unsure of.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are many off campus houses that tend to be a little more expensive. There are also a wide variety of apartments to chose from in all different price ranges.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I always wanted to go to school here, hopefully my finances will allow it.

3 College Freshman

Academics: I am in the early stages.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I am trying to get more financial help.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I don' t notice it much.

College Freshman

Nightlife: I don't party so that does' t effect me.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I have chosen this field to help people in my community.

4 College Freshman

Majors: My first challenge is finding financial aid. My parents fall into an area of over incomed, I don't understand this because my mother is disabled and a lot of money I goes to medical bills.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: If you are willing to travel a bit, the off campus dining is great around the OU campus area.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Game day at OU is a big event, and the students are always involved in it.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Really tight schedule for the first few years, and the major itself is extremely broad.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Workload is not intensive, and the facilities are kept to a nice standard. I haven't been able to explore job opportunities or internships much yet, however.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The campus is close and convenient and the community is always helpful.

4 College Student

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus so I can't tell you what the dorms are like but everything else on campus is nice and clean.

4 College Student

Diversity: I feel like the diversity at the University of Oklahoma is pretty diverse and accepting.

3 College Student

Weather: Oklahoma weather is very bipolar. One day it could be eighteen degrees and then the next day it could be seventy degrees.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: National Merit is a great program and OU said that they would pay the way all the way through due to it, but I'm still having to pay about 7,000 a semester in tuition and fees and books. Kinda frustrating.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: If it's football, then everyone is excited. Life revolves around football. Everything else is just kind of there.

OU is an excellent choice for students who are undecided on their majors because it truly offers a wide variety of fantastic programs in every field of study, allowing students time to explore different classes and change their minds. The campus environment is great, too. There really is a place for everyone, no matter how strange your interests may be, and what really counts is the fact that the people that run the random clubs and organizations on campus want you to be involved, to have a good time, and to grow as a person. College is about experimenting and learning about oneself. OU provides its students with the means to do so in a safe situation. The majority of students are very satisfied with their time spent at OU. They feel that the small town of Norman offers a true college experience, along with the ability to give back to the community. Most feel that people in Norman are genuinely friendly and, for the most part, down to earth. The academics at OU are strong, and, generally speaking, the professors are understanding and qualified. Although there are some aspects that could use improvement, like parking, OU offers many great perks that make up for the minor inconveniences. OU has a strong athletic tradition, and the facilities available to students and athletes alike are top-of-the-line. There are numerous things to do, depending on what or with whom you care to do them with. Ultimately, what makes OU such a great place was different for every student, which only proves that OU truly does have something for everybody.
