Diversity: Never Been in a More White-Dominated Place – The University is trying to increase it's reputation as a whites-only school, but it sure looks like everybody is still white.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Lots of Options – Between taxis, zip cars, free buses, trains, and charter buses to Chicago and the airports, it's very simple and effortless to get to Chicago. The tricky thing is that the bus, if not express to Chicago takes a good amount of time, while the train (the South Shore Line) doesn't have enough departure or arrival times to always be an option for travel. The South Bend Airport does have a reputation of having flights (especially United) get canceled from Chicago, but if you're coming in good weather, you shouldn't have an issue, and the airport is 10 minutes from campus.

Facilities: Basically if you dont go to the football games and get drunk, you are not a notre dame student... and watch out for the saint mary's girls... theyre slutty and stupid

Parking: Pretty Fine – Lots of space for lots of cars... not that far away

Diversity: We Have All Types – We have both types! Irish and German Catholics... If you aren't white people assume you're an athlete

Facilities: Can't Argue With the Tradition – If you have ever been to Notre Dame then you know why it is so special. The tradition can be felt in the air. The unique dorm setup creates a close bond between all students in each hall, and the competitiveness adds an element of rivalries and pride that only a student could ever understand. Football saturdays are electric and unlike any other school in the country.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Not Crazy, but Not Bad – The school is very lax about drinking as long as you stay in a room, and dorm parties are a decent distraction from studying. There are many taxies available to go to the off campus parties, which are as wild as any other school. Also, parietals are not in effect off campus, so the fun doesn't have to end at 2

Campus Dining: Dining Halls Are Great – There is a great variety at both dining halls. The many options make the dining halls bearable to eat at everyday. Having subway and burger king is always a nice change of pace. The huddle also has cheap food, including hot dogs for a quarter every night at midnight

Facilities: The library at ND is really nice--not much to look at from the outside, but large with plenty of study space on the inside. The student center is decent; not many food options, but a good place to meet with friends and get coffee. The gyms are nice--Rolfs is definitely better, but the Rock is fine if you just want to get your work out done. The general campus aesthetics are beautiful; Notre Dame is a gorgeous campus.

Facilities: Dorm Events, Concerts – Some decent concerts around town and on campus, dorm events are unique.

4 College Senior

Transportation: Cabs Are Plentiful, Buses Are Free – Rides off campus are cheap via cabs. Downtown South Bend is a 25 minute walk off campus. Cabs are 7-10$ to the airport and the bus provides a free option to get to the airport. Many students have never used public transportation before and do not understand how to properly get around. If you take the initiative to know the town and the transportation options, you can get anywhere for free.

5 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Available, but Dorms Are Competitive – Many off-campus housing options are brand new and affordable.

3 College Senior

Majors: Many to Choose from, but Still Somewhat Limited – A full Computer science program is lacking as well as the seat availability for many classes.

4 College Senior

Athletics: The Best – Although the football team has not been elite in some time, fan support and the varsity athletic facilities are world-class.

2 College Senior

Scholarships: Wayyyy Tooo Expensive – Notre Dame is at over $50,000/ year and their financial aid office does not help too much in contributing to the economic diversity of the student population. They treat you like a number and there is virtually no human consideration given to specific situations.

1 College Senior

Diversity: There is virtually no diversity at Notre Dame, and ND uses what little diversity there is to advertise the presence of "diversity". Many students have been brought up on their parents' dime and have never had to fend for themselves.

Campus Dining: Number 2 in the Country – Rated #2 in the country recently, Notre Dame's dining halls are the best. Flank Steak and shrimp on occasion.

Campus Housing: The Best – Dorm Life is so good, you don't want to move off-campus.

Facilities: Lack of a True Student Union – Notre Dame lacks a true student union, only having a small building with Subway, Sbarro, and Burger King. The reason this grade is so high is the aesthetics. Notre Dame is one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. More/modernized gyms are needed and the main library needs a major overhaul.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: The Most Unique College Experience – Notre Dame has the most tradition based campus atmosphere in the country. Legends have walked in the same halls you visit every day. A great experience that will give you memories for a lifetime.

3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: Res-Life BS – Notre Dame allows some great Dorm parties for the younger crowd, and I enjoy the single-gender dorm set-up. Parietals (No-one of the opposite sex allowed in your room from 12AM-9AM weekdays, 2AM-9AM Weekends) are strictly enforced and I find this rule to be over the top.

Nightlife: Great Times – A good amount of bars and clubs are in and around South Bend. Club Fever and Club Landing are two of the more popular destinations. One or two more clubs would raise this grade, but all around, great times are close and convenient.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Everyone at Notre Dame lives on campus for the first 3 years. It's only optional for your first year but EVERYONE stays on! It contributes to the whole Notre Dame community. It also makes daily life very very easy when living on campus.

Computers: Notre Dame is entirely wireless so if you want to sit on South Quad while facebooking, you can! Printers are in every dorm and printing only costs 5 cents a sheet. Most students own their own computers.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Notre Dame is extremely safe despite the area's surrounding campus. A safe walk program is provided at all times of the night and NDSP is constantly checking on the dorms and campus life.

"Wonderful," "amazing," "special," "family"-these are the most common words that students use to describe their times at Notre Dame. The University has a unique atmosphere that is embraced by many; the campus is basically self-contained, the dorms are all very close-knit, and there are truly strong connections between students. While the weather may test your survival skills and the administration may try your patience, the Notre Dame experience is unlike any other you'll ever have. The school's tradition and history create an environment where you'll feel welcomed the moment you step foot on campus.

Notre Dame is not an easy school, and it's important to remember that academics are huge. Above all else, you need to be willing to study and focus, or you're not going to make it through the University's workload. Students here are universally dedicated to their studies, and campus life reflects it. This is not a party school. Students may find themselves frustrated by the value system or the lack of outside activities. The best recommendation for Notre Dame is to visit and check out campus life firsthand. Often, the atmosphere alone is enough to sway your feelings one way or the other.
