Academics: This is definitely a hard major at Notre Dame. The workload can be rough sometimes, but there are great facilities and it's impressive to come out with a degree in Biological Sciences. If you can handle it, it is worth it.

Academics: The professors are usually really good. You learn a lot, but some exams can crush you. There are bad professors here and there, but overall, I have had excellent professors. You really learn a lot and there are numerous interesting classes.

Campus Strictness: There are parietals, which are set times when members of the opposite sex can't be in the single sex dorm rooms. There are also strict policies on drug use and semi-strict policies on alcohol consumption. Overall, it isn't too bad. Parietals can be rough sometimes (especially on the weekends) but otherwise it doesn't really interfere that much.

Overall Experience: I know exactly zero people who regret coming here. It is a special place. You will learn a lot and have a blast.

Diversity: Notre Dame gets a worse rap than it deserves. I came in expecting a horde of rich white republicans. I have international friends, gay friends, liberal friends, and I don't know of any of them being given a hard time by anyone. I find the diversity here great.

Campus Housing: A lot of housing depends on what dorm you're in. ND students typically stay in the same dorm as long as they live on campus. Some dorms are old, beautiful, but have small rooms. Others are new and have big rooms but are unappealing hunks. However, everyone I know loves their dorm and claims it's the best on campus. You build up a great bond with everyone in your dorm.

Off-Campus Dining: Eddy street has some solid options and South Bend has more as well. However, with Subway, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Reckers (24 hour cafe/pizza/sandwiches), the dining halls, and other small cafes, eating off campus isn't a huge priority.

Off-Campus Housing: Many upperclassmen, seniors especially, elect to live off campus. However, dorm life is a central part of the Notre Dame experience, especially as an underclassman

Academics: Great faculty, great facilities, just got a new grant for a new building, arkies are great people

Academics: Great professors and learning-oriented community.

Campus Strictness: If you don't make problems and are reasonable you won't have issues. Pretty fair in all regards.

"Wonderful," "amazing," "special," "family"-these are the most common words that students use to describe their times at Notre Dame. The University has a unique atmosphere that is embraced by many; the campus is basically self-contained, the dorms are all very close-knit, and there are truly strong connections between students. While the weather may test your survival skills and the administration may try your patience, the Notre Dame experience is unlike any other you'll ever have. The school's tradition and history create an environment where you'll feel welcomed the moment you step foot on campus.

Notre Dame is not an easy school, and it's important to remember that academics are huge. Above all else, you need to be willing to study and focus, or you're not going to make it through the University's workload. Students here are universally dedicated to their studies, and campus life reflects it. This is not a party school. Students may find themselves frustrated by the value system or the lack of outside activities. The best recommendation for Notre Dame is to visit and check out campus life firsthand. Often, the atmosphere alone is enough to sway your feelings one way or the other.
