5 College Sophomore

Academics: The academics at Northwestern are amazing. It is a difficult workload and curriculum, but worth it.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: A little outdated, but available.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: We're near enough to downtown in which case it never gets boring.

College Sophomore

Athletics: I, along with most students, do not follow athletics because no one has school spirit.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: The cost of a permit is very expensive without the guarantee of a spot.

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: There is a lot of diversity and cultural learning experiences

4 College Sophomore

Weather: We have weather extremes. During the spring, summer, and fall the campus is absolutely beautiful and enjoyable. In the winter is miserable no matter where you are in Minnesota.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: It is like we are being babysat. Unreasonable policies to try and help uphold the Christian environment, but tend to harm it.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I will not live on campus again. The social life is not accepting and bland. It is a great school academically, but the community could be better.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: Northwestern has amazing professors who are experienced professionals in their field. The workload is heavier and more advanced, but professors are easily accessible and caring to help students.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I plan on having an internship. I am studying business, but regardless of major, real life experience is going to teach you just as much or possibly more than the classroom. My internship concern is due to my desired career path. I would like to run my own small business. It is difficult to find an internship that utilizes similar business aspects.

College Sophomore

Greek Life: There is no Greek life at University of Northwestern- Saint Paul... unless they're holding out on me.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: There isn't a lot of diversity at this school, but the majority of the students are very accepting.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: The buses on campus are fine and everything is close enough to walk to anyways, but the parking situation here is AWFUL.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I'm majoring in ESL Education and our program has a 100% acceptance rate for jobs, highly recommended.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: UNW is right next to a fantastic mall, and there are decent option for food places and the like.

2 College Sophomore

Computers: Internet here is bad (although I have heard it is even worse at other schools) and not conducive to gaming or sometimes even loading things like Netflix and Youtube.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I really like the dorms on this campus, they're a lot bigger than most AND they have their own kitchenettes and bathrooms (always a big plus).

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drugs and alcohol are not allowed on campus per the Student Handbook, so the presence is limited and discouraged.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: There are VERY limited scholarship opportunities at this school.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are some places to eat close to UNW, but most of the closest ones are chain restaurants. However, if you drive about 10-15 minutes away, there is a much better variety of dining locations just down Snelling Avenue.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There is not any use of drugs or alcohol on this campus that I have witnessed. I feel that I am not pressured at all and haven't had, nor wanted, the opportunity to participate in drug or alcohol use.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: I love the community here at Northwestern. Everyone is friends with everyone. I feel that I have a very active night life and it is a safe one. I do not here about drinking or drugs on this campus at all, which is a nice switch from a public high school. The night life consists of a few people playing some loud music in their dorm, then more people hear it and go in the room. Then more people and more show up! It becomes an epic dance party once a week.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I have a lot of friends involved in varsity and intramural sports and they have nothing but good things to say about the sports. I think that the sports programs could use more talent but they are good for where Northwestern is as a school.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I really love being in the student center building! It is a nice distance from classes so it does not take me longer than six minutes to walk to class on a slow day. The cost is outrageous, however. It is too much money. The housing process was very easy, I click on what dorm I would prefer and they got me into that dorm. Easy as pie!

As a whole, Northwestern is loved by its students. The faculty, programs, students, staff, community, and environment create an atmosphere of love, comfort, and respect. A high level of satisfaction exists because most students chose the College for the high level of Christian education that Northwestern offers.

Northwestern is a place where professors and faculty do not shut down when they go home at night. Professors make themselves available to help and support students all the time, many of them even giving out their home numbers to students in case they should ever need to talk. Nearly all students that attend Northwestern have a deep passion for their faith and are on fire for the Lord. Students and faculty have such welcoming and sincere personalities, which makes it easy to get to know people. Friendships created at NWC are something cherished by everyone. There's not a place on campus where you won't receive a smile or salutation. The light created by the Lord is apparent on this campus and in its students.
