Campus Strictness: As long as you are not hurting anybody else and are abiding the law then people do not really seem to care what you are doing. Police are hard on underage drinking but it's against the law so that is not surprising.

Campus Strictness: the police do their job well and if students act appropriately they don't intervene or anything

Campus Strictness: UNT wants what is best for you, and they'll make sure of that even if it includes no drinking in the dorms or banning smoking on campus. Though I wish they would be more lenient on parking.

4 College Senior

Campus Strictness: There are no dorms on campus. Everything is pretty laid back. Strict where it needs to be and lenient where they need to be.

Campus Strictness: Speaking as someone who commutes and doesn't often participate in on-campus activities, the police rarely intrude in day to day schooling life. However, dealing with parking rules and regulations is a headache - the campus police spend a lot of time patrolling for parking violations, which can cost you quite a bit in tickets if you misread a sign or something. Be careful about where and how you park, that's for sure. However, I've also been pulled over for minor mistakes before (I forgot to turn some of my lights on when pulling out of a campus parking lot at night), and when I stayed calm and apologized for the mistake the officer was very understanding and helpful, so having a good attitude and being respectful will likely do you a lot of favors. Beyond that, however, I can't really say how much police are or aren't a problem in terms of student activities.
