Facilities: We're All Proud – I would say that our school is so unique because everyone here is proud to call themselves a UNCC 49er. We are proud to state that we overcome all differences and work together as a school to make a difference in the world.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Lots of Help – All of the staff, and student RAs, volunteers, etc are a great help and truly make your stay at UNC Charlotte a pleasurable experience. They encourage you to try new things, and keep up with your schoolwork.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Not Always Available – The two dining halls are very different in quality, Crown Commons is great, but RDH is a nightmare. Prospector has the best and most variety of places to eat, but close way before any other dining place and are not open on the weekends.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek housing is available, all Greek organizations are not represented at this time

Athletics: Range of Sports – I don't find much entertainment in the school sports, but our school does offer a wide range. Our mens' soccer team made it to the national championships and our basketball team is division I. Also, in spring 2013 our school for the first time ever is starting a football team. The school is amped for that and it's become a main priority to the school.

Campus Housing: Pass on the High Rises – The Freshman usually are designated to the high rises, and they're awful. It's made up of off white brick which resembles much of an atmosphere of a jail. I live on the second floor and in our one hall the handicapped shower does not work, and for the other shower you can't get it to work unless you have the sink running full blast, or if someone flushes the toilet (not to mention you either have freezing cold or scalding hot water; no happy medium). Also, in my room there's no heat the duct is constantly blowing cold air. We as students have addressed this problem to maintenance but nothing has been done about the consistent problems with the high rises. So for any incoming freshman, I'd say pass on the high rises because you'll only be wasting your money.

Diversity: We have such a diversity at campus. We have international students as well as students from all over the nation. The school no matter what race, ethnicity, sexual orientation welcomes you with opening arms. There's numerous opportunities to join clubs that allow different cultures to come together and I believe it truly allows everyone to keep an open mind to life and diversities.

Campus Strictness: Campus Rules – The campus is well maintained and there is not much bad acting noticed on campus. For the most part the biggest rule is drive the speed limit on campus and watch out for students that are walking across the street. The students here act their age from what I have noticed there has been no rules made because of ignorance.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Dinning Halls – At UNCC there are a variety of dinning halls and places on campus to eat. In the Crown Commons there is a large variety of food offered so that people can pick and choose what they want. Late at night there are places such as Wendys and Outtakes on campus that are open as late as 12. The food is much better than my previous college and I am happy that I chose UNC Charlotte.

Local Atmosphere: UNCC has a beatiful campus full right outside the heart of the city. It has to be the cleanest campus I have ever seen. The people are friendly and there are many events held on campus. Also there is safe transportation for the dark hours of the day offered to students. This college experience at UNCC has be a wonderful one and I couldnt ask for more!

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: I didn't receive any money just loans which doesn't help because my parents are also paying my older brother's college tuition. I don't feel like because you make a certain amount of money that you shouldn't be allowed some type of financial support especially if you're paying more than one college tuition.

2 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Police for the most part aren't to bad but they always break up the house parties. First offense you get a drinking ticket, second offense is when they alert your parents which isn't to bad.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: House parties are more fun than the bar/club scene. They are easier to access and better music. Only thing is majority of them get shut down which sucks

Majors: Science Here Is Terrible.. The biology department will fail most Biology 2120 students, it is meant to be a weed-out class, that's why the major is called "pre-biology" before taking that class. Hardly anyone passed, I was only able to pass because I spent countless hours studying and have previously taken an AP Biology course as well as a basic course and an internship in biochemistry at another university. It was not worth it, take it at another university or community college or choose not to exercise, sleep, or have a social life because of random nitpicky exams that don't actually test your knowledge. You will fail, even with just studying for 30 hours alone. I guarantee this, and this is the goal of the department. I compared my work with friends in other universities, it's not even humane what they're doing here.

The chemistry department shows just as much concern as the biology department. Some individual professors are ok, but many of them can't teach well. It's difficult to teach I would imagine, but other universities (even those that rank below UNCC) teach it so much better according to the many re-attending students who have already graduated from other universities. I was even treated unfairly in one of my classes, and nothing was ever done about it, no matter how much I met with anyone or how much proof I had shown. They basically told me that it was just one class, and that grades had already been submitted, despite me trying to take care of the problem the day final grades were posted.

This school is not anything exceptional, but people seemed to be more satisfied with other majors at this university. Although, I recommend that you go elsewhere because of the lack of concern and knowledge many of the department heads and faculty show.

Local Atmosphere: It's Ok.. There's a lot of stores around campus. The university area may be the nicest area of Charlotte because everything is somewhat new. It's about a 20 minute drive into downtown Charlotte. Charlotte is the biggest city in North Carolina so I was expecting more, but I suppose a lot of the state is newly industrialized to begin with. Basically, I'm happy that it's not out in the middle of nowhere.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It's Charlotte – The place is great as long as you get yourself involved. Plenty to do on and off campus plus the city is extremely close.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are tons of apartments to choose from, some are even pet friendly!

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: University City – There are tons of restraunts in the area. There is a good variety and you can always find something to eat no matter what you are in the mood for.

3 College Student

Campus Dining: The food on campus is pretty good. As a student there is a variety of places outside the school setting that one can endure.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: It's Always Hot – Local weather isn't really a problem. It's normally really warm, and we don't get a lot of snow. The only thing we ever really get is rain. And it's not that bad. The weather changes up a lot.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Campus is pretty diverse and open to people of different backgrounds. It's good, I mean it's still majorly white. But it's getting there.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Food is alright on campus. Crown Commons is the best bet. RDH is getting torn down, which is good because their food is awful. There's a lot of fast food places on campus. And Outtakes connivence stores, but they are extremely expensive. Hard if you have a restricted diet (vegetarian, vegan, allergies, gluten free, etc) because there really aren't a ton of options for you.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe on the UNC Charlotte campus. There are campus security petrolling campus constantly. Just don't travel alone at night flashing aroun your new Ipad touch because there has been some cases of theft, but mostly at the apartments just off campus.

Academics: Being a Nursing major at UNC Charlotte is very tough. You are required to make a B or better in all your Nursing prerequisites. This is your biologies, and chemistries, as well as a few general nursing courses. If you make less than a B in one of the courses you can retake it, however if you make less than a B in two of the courses you cannot even apply for the upper division program, and will be forced to change your major or transfer schools. The Nursing program here is very competative. This program requires you to stay on top of you work, and study ahead. The actual workload is not to bad because most of the classes required for the upper division program consists of only test and quizes, therefore you just need to study, ALOT! The professors will o anything to help you and are very intellegent in their field of stuy. If you do get into the uppe division program many doors are open for you, and you are pretty much guaranteed a job upon graduation.

Computers: There are multiple free computer labs on campus. Wireless access is available almost every where. Also in the Student Union you can rent an Apple laptop for 3 hours.
