Computers: Computers are available at all departments but I hate the printing service at the Atkins library. I spent over 60 bucks on printing just for one year because it was automatically set printing color instead black and white documents. Didn't get money back after I emailed them.

Weather: The weather is actually very nice around here. No complain.

4 Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: They have various seminars, meetings, discussions, signs and posters and awareness about what are the consequences if you participate in those activities. They are very strict in case if you are caught, necessary precautions are in effect.

Drug Safety: I think UNCC does a good job of creating alcohol/drug awareness. And there are few incidents on campus that are serious. This is primarily because it's a commuter school so it really clears out on weekends. Most students take drinking off-camus, because campus police are quite strict with rules/regulation/drinking tickets etc. Drugs aren't a big part of our campus, for the most part we are a pretty clean campus. There is marijuana use, but that tends to be most places these days. There's not much peer pressure, like I said, because most people commute.

Local Atmosphere: Charlotte is a growing city and there is a lot to do, but if you don't have a car or money, it can be quite difficult to participate. There are places on all sides of campus, but most are shops, stores or food places, so if you are low on cash it can be dull. Uptown Charlotte is smaller but beautiful and if you are of age, there are definitely lots of bars/clubs to go to. Lots of people go to North Davidson which is considered the "artsy" part of town and there are cool shops/bars there. My favorite place is the US National White Water Center/Crowder Mountain, which is 30 minutes away but if you like the outdoors, it's worth it. They have white water rafting, hiking, high ropes courses and zip lining.

Facilities: The campus life is rather dull because the school is a commuter school. There are a lot of activities on campus but they don't do a very good job of making events known, not a lot of posters and announcements.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Typically an internship goes without pay and you spend anywhere from 10-20 hours a week in the internship. The responsibilities can be anywhere from paper work to assisting the physical therapist and I'm starting one in a week because it is mandatory for our major.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I love my program at UNCC, my career goal is to become a physical therapist. The concern I have with physical therapy school is the difficulty of being accepted into the graduate program.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: Getting into my program requires hours of observing your goal career and a rather high GPA. The most important criteria for admission into the Kinesiology program is to have a great amount of internship hours along with a high GPA.

Parking: The cost of a permit seems to rise every year, the cost this year is $450. It can be hard to find a spot. The best solution is to arrive early to make sure you have time to find one. The parking office is very harsh and can find you and give you a ticket in matter of minutes. A lot of students live near campus and walk, also some take the city bus.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: UNC Charlotte has a beautiful campus. It has two athletic centers for your use. The library is very good and has quiet zones for serious study time. The Student Union is fairly new and is a great place to get food and hang out.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Great selection of majors. Computer science is top of the line and has its own college. College of Engineering has a computer system filled with top of the line programs that can be accessed from your personal computer.

College Senior

Health & Safety: I have never used the services on campus. So, I cannot speak to the quality.

4 College Senior

Facilities: The facilities are new and updated. For example, the library and student union are state of the art. Plus, the football field was just renovated to welcome the new football team.

4 College Senior

Drug Safety: I've never had any issue with drugs or safety at UNCC.

4 College Senior

Facilities: The school is a very pretty campus that houses many different programs. Each building looks similar on the outside, but inside, the buildings are themed to the type of program they house.

4 College Senior

Transportation: We have buses on campus that run until 2am, although they are often late and hard to predict when they will arrive if you need to be to class on time.

1 College Senior

Parking: Parking cost far more than books at the university and many struggle to even find a place to park even if they do get the permit.

5 College Senior

Greek Life: Our geek life is very impressive and many individual like to keep updates on the event that go on.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: The campus does not security cameras outside the buildings however everything can be seen by the campus lights.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: At UNCC we have a very diverse population. In any given class you will see a mixture of both genders, ethnicities, races, social groups and more. We have city boys & girls, country, redneck, prep, average, international, greek, and anything else you can think of.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Like anywhere you go, there is going to be crime. We have an amazing team of officers that patrol campus, they are always very alert and helpful. There tends to be random robberies around campus and they always have the same suspect description. There also tends to be car break ins every now and then but overall the campus crime rate seems to be pretty low and well taken care of. We also have great technology around campus to help fight against crime.

Campus Dining: The on campus dining hall is pretty nice, its new and they are in the process of building a new freshman dining hall. It has a good variety of options (its buffet style). The aren't that many options to choose from for on campus dining (you get kind of tired of the same things over and over) but for the most part it is okay.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: UNCC is located in an amazing city. Not only is it amazing, it is diverse! Drive 10 minutes in either direction and get totally different scenes (urban uptown shopping and living, rural countryside, a mixture of both) it is amazing! Shopping is amazing around UNCC (huge malls and boutiques) Northlake mall, Concord Mills, South Park mall. Around Charlotte people seem to be very accepting of college students and the college life. Charlotte is an amazing and diverse place to live!

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The guys at UNC Charlotte are alright, there's a lot of "smarties" around due to the fact that this school is well known for Engineering. However there is a good diversity of girls on campus.
