Diversity: There are many races, sexual orientations, and many clubs full of diversity but many times it goes unnoticed due to the school being predominately white.

1 College Junior

Parking: The parking rates are ridiculous because they are $450 the last I heard. I know that faculty is over $500. I truly believe that UNCC is not being honest with what they are doing with the money that we are already giving through our tuition.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: I would really like for there to be healthier choices but other than that, there are good choices around for students to choose and the convenience shop has a relatively accommodating hour.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: I have always had problems with funding my education because of the lack of money from financial aid. I would suggest doing scholarships every day and hoping for the best. Always look out of loans too.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel safe at Charlotte and anytime I have been in need for safety or for health issues they have been real helpful

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: I enjoy the meals on campus. The soup and salad bar in the dining hall is one of my favorites

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: I am not into the party scene. I am a member of the dance team and between that, my studies, and working I really don't have alot of extra time.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: Very expensive and had to park on the other side of campus most of the time had to take a bus to get to my car.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Most are dine in restaurants which can be costly to most college students.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Financial aid is difficult to obtain and is somewhat subjective. My first year I was able to obtain enough aid but my second year I didn't get enough because I had a problem with my fafsa. A good suggestion is to make sure your paperwork is in on time and to check back regularly with the financial aid office.

Facilities: Half of the overall buildings on campus (including dorms) are older and in need of cosmetic repair; especially the high rise dorm buildings on the front of campus. However, the other half of the buildings are new (mostly the engineering side of campus) and are gorgeous. There are concrete plans to renovate the older existing buildings in the near future though.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: There are a lot of majors to choose from at UncC and lots of disciplines in each major. We are the second largest engineering school in the state, after NC State University and have very good education, nursing, business and engineering programs.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Health and safety is a prominent part of campus life, with our own police department with a SWAT team to a well run and accessable health clinic on campus, and a big hospital on the corner of campus.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: All the older buildings are in need of a cosmetic update but the newer buildings are very nice. Campus life is very active and there is always some large event going on somewhere on campus, even late at night!

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greeks definitely have the most to do on campus when it comes to a social scene and extracurricular activities in general. Our Greek life is also pretty united and I would advise everyone attending Charlotte to go Greek. it really adds a lot to your college experience here.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I think we have a pretty wide variety of majors on campus. I am an engineering major and we have lots of different fields of engineering and concentrations within the fields.

5 College Sophomore

Nightlife: If you are in Greek life there is a fraternity having a party every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and other days of the week. If you are not in Greek life you can always go to baddogs even though its crappy, its close. Plus there are like a million nicer and not so nice clubs uptown. Any night of the week you can go out.

Drug Safety: Charlotte is a dry campus because there are no alcohol sales on campus but almost every 18/19 year old freshman I knew had a fake ID or an alcohol hookup they could call anytime of day. It is not weird because almost everyone on campus likes to party and have a good time. Other drugs are not hide to find either around campus. It is abundant but not causing violence or anything.

Campus Strictness: Police force is lenient on first offense and tries to work things out initially

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Not many inexpensive places within walking distance

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: They offer a great quality of off campus housing for students. I'm sure you can find a resident that fits your comfort in price and space. They have housing for those that prefer to be close to campus they provide for those that like distance, even for the people that want to be close to a nearby attraction their is a spot for you as well.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Variety is not the issue, neither is quality. To give UNCC a "A+" the y would have to speed up the service just a little. Their may be over 100 people that may want Wendy's during their study hour. They may or may not get to eat due to the speed of service on a particular day.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: I give the parking a grade of a B not because of the availability but because of the cost of receiving a parking permit. I understand that the money goes right back to the university but the price is very unreasonable in my opinion. I can also say that parking enforcement are somewhat understandable and issue out warning tickets to people that violate the rule for the first time.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: The university is not that must different from others when it comes to the basic needs for a college student. However, The diversity of people from different backgrounds set's it apart from any other major university that i know of. You learn lots of new thing when placed in environments of such.

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The financial aid process is very convenient. The staff works fast and try their absolute best to get students the financial aid they need to receive their degree. I have heard nothing but the same from classmates as well.
